The Garden
The Garden Strathcona has a curated shop full of beautiful, ethically sourced personal care and home items. Our mission is to showcase no-compromise products that stand for a better world and bring them to you all in one place! In our caf at The Garden we serve organic and fair-trade beverages from Agro Roasters & JusTea.

We make all of our fresh baked treats, breakfast and lunch bowls from scratch in-house. We value using ethically-sourced ingredients always and choose local products whenever possible at our caf. Above our caf is our private Studio at The Garden, which has large north facing windows, tons of plants, and natural light.
Services
The Garden is located in the historical Strathcona neighbourhood; our space built upon the unceded and traditional territory of the Coast Salish peoples, including the territories of the xmkwym (Musqueam), Skwxw7mesh (Squamish), and Sllwta/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. The idea and concept for The Garden evolved over many years before we actually set shovel to dirt.
We offer a daily rotation of fresh baked treats along with a menu of smoothies, breakfast and lunch bowls. We have both vegan and non-vegan options, sure to please any crowd! All of our meat and dairy products are humanely sourced and we use organic and local ingredients whenever possible. Our coffee menu features organic, fair trade beans from our Strathcona neighbours; Agro Roasters.
Our versatile studio space above the cafe is the perfect room for a variety of uses including photoshoots, workshops, yoga classes, corporate/creative meeting space, dinners, and pop-up shops. It's a private and serene space with floor to ceiling windows, numerous plants and industrial building features.

Visited The Garden last week for lunch and had the most delicious mushroom & cheese grilled sandwich! Came a way with a plant too (couldn't resist!), that is now brightening up my work from home office! A great spot for lunch or coffee and a useful place to find a present too. I will be back soon!

Big fan of The Garden! Love the jungle vibes with all the plants, great coffee and sweet treats (those cookies...), and really friendly staff. Also a great place to pick up a gift, not just plants ☺️

Not sure if this is a coffee shop or a plant shop but I love it! The space is really nice but it does get busy and they have a time limit for how long you can stay because of that.
Coffee is good and food is good too. Maybe it tastes better because I am surrounded by plants?

Cute plant filled space, gets pretty busy. I like the seats and interior a lot. Wish I tried the chocolate cookie. The soup was good!

Fancy coffee, cookies and other treats when you want to splurge. The interior is beautiful with lots of plants. Body and home care products are also available and I'm always so tempted! Appreciate the gender-neutral toilet!

The mushroom bowl at The Garden Strathcona is wholesome and incredibly satisfying. It’s one of my favourite cafes to be at in the city. The atmosphere is calming and the staff are always so friendly. The salted chocolate chip cookie is also highly recommended. 10s across the board!

Always a treat! The coffee, especially the blue latte - the pastries and food are heavenly. There is a fantastic local feel and you can tell that whomever runs it is on top of things and has good taste. I like that they also sell plants and the upstairs is for tent for events.

Awesome place with one of the best vegan tofu scrambles in town.

We stopped in for a late breakfast during the week and were impressed at the setup of the place, especially since it's in a not-so-great part of town. Semi-upscale feel to the interior, with limited seating, you order up at the counter and they bring your food out. They have lots of vegan options, including a build-your-own porridge, a tofu scramble, and lots of delicious-looking baked goodies. We each ordered the scramble ($14 plus tax), and a large drip (dark roast) coffee ($2.75 plus tax; comes with one free refill, which

Plants here, plants there, plants everywhere! The Garden Strathcona is a stunning café.

This would make a great spot to read a book or catch up with some friends.

My partner and I shared a flat white with oat milk, the chewy chocolate chip cookie, and the gluten-free chocolate chip banana loaf. Cafés that offer oat milk as their default "milk" or at no extra charge already receive extra marks from me! The coffee was very rich and smooth. The loaf and cookie were huge! 5/5 for the coffee and 4/5 for the pastries.

From candles to books, they sell goods from other local businesses-

The best cafe in Vancouver. It's women-owned and plant-based and beautiful.

Try the deep and dark smoothie for the all-day energy and protein kick and the gluten-free vegan chocolate banana bread is my favorite the city!!

You can enjoy a coffee surrounded by beautiful plants. I came here for breakfast, and the sandwich and soup were tasty!(Actually I prefer food than coffee this time) I will try another breakfast next time. They also sell cool interiors like candles and accessories. Cozy nice atmosphere.

Food was tasty with a good amount of vegan options. I think they've slightly expanded their vegan baked goods offerings, which is great, and I would love to see more vegan items in the future.

"Chicken" Sandwich (5/5)
Very flavourful, umami filling like a chicken salad. The tomatoes added a refreshing element to the creamy, heavier components of the sandwich. Bread was nice and buttery and crisp on the edges. Wish there was a bit more filling, maybe some greens, but still super delicious.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie (5/5)
Super delicious. Crisp on the outside and chewy from

One of the most beautiful Cafés in Vancouver; maybe the nicest one I’ve visited so far!
We had a cappuccino and matcha latte as well as some treats. Everything was delicious - especially the ginger cookie is to die for 😋
Super friendly service & great selection of plants!
We’ll definitely be back!

The Garden Strathcona is in it's name, a Garden! The interior of this place is absolutely stunning. There are plants everywhere, a little mini shop, and a beautiful studio space to rent.

A friend and I took a visit here on a super rainy day. I got the Mocha, and she got an oat milk latte (a plus is that the milk substitutes come at no extra charge!) the coffee we both had was delish!

The reason I'm not giving 5 stars, the food and treat selection is minimal. It is high quality (I had a salted chocolate chip cookie, which was super yummy). I wish there were a few more options.

This place is a dream. I loved the atmosphere in here and aesthetically so pleasing. The food is delicious with a good variety of gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options. I loved that they also have a store area to buy local products. Service was quickly, food was good and so was the coffee. I am looking forward to going back.

I had the coconut curry, which tasted flavorless and bland. My friend ordered something else, which she approved of, so it's possible I just ordered something bad.
The restaurant has a shopping section on the inside, and all the menu items look very healthy. Would recommend this place to vegans and vegetarians.

5 stars across the board for this beautiful, aesthetically pleasing coffee shop and store.

I popped in to grab a coffee and some grub and was pleasantly surprised with how pretty and modern it was in here; think industrial meets boho. Upon walking in you're greeted with lush greenery left and right. No wonder it's called The Garden.

The ladies at the counter were super friendly and patient as I took a tad bit longer looking through the menu. Upon their recommendation, in addition to my large drip coffee, I got the vegan breakfast bowl, banana bread, and a jar of Mumgry chocolate peanut

Just a gorgeous little cafe/shop.

It's worth noting it's open during this difficult time, and they are following distancing rules. So gold star for that. They also have a great takeout menu for food!

On my last visit I snagged a few of their outrageously addictive chewy vegan chocolate chip cookies and grabbed a tea and coffee to go aswell.

They have a lovely selection of plants and when things are normal again I can't wait to go back with my friends.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS CAFE/plant shop ;)

It was a busy Friday and my gf and I decided to spend the afternoon together... We were late starting our "date" so we decided to grab a late brunch... Our first choice was to go to Nemesis a coffee shop around SFU downtown... We were going to go to Costco and other locations so we decided to drive... low and behold as soon as we left the house we were stuck in traffic! It was about 2 pm on a Friday afternoon and stuck in traffic come on now!!!... I have the radio going and we learnt the cause... another Environmental Strike or Protest! Come on guys!!! I love our planet too

The atmosphere is BEAUTIFUL. The seating is limited but there's lots of space to walk and move around. Super aesthetic to take pictures in.

I've been here at least 4 times and I haven't gotten the opportunity to try everything I want to try. That being said, their regular chocolate chip cookie is AMAZING: I don't consume dairy, and this cookie is vegan. Vegan or not vegan, this is the best cookie I've ever had. It's also huge: could be a meal in itself.

Which leads into my other point: I got the Mushroom Bowl, and although it tasted really good and looked nicely

Love this place! The moment you walk in the room, you can feel the laid back vibe.

The layout of the cafe is great. It is spacious and there are multiple seating areas.

There is also a retail space in the corner selling various items like candles, notebooks and mugs.

We ended up getting lattes and salted chocolate cookies. Both were delishious!
Will definately come back and try different items on the menu.

Though a recent addition to the neighbourhood, The Garden Strathcona is sure to become a mainstay. Everything we sampled was delicious, from the coffee through to mushroom toast and the mushroom bowl. There's also a small retail alcove offering delightful products that are not only aesthetically appealing but also sourced/produced ethically.

The Garden Strathcona feels like an EastVan rendition of Dalina meets Small Victory.

I came here for a cup of latte and bought a salty chocolate chip cookie. It was awesome!

The exterior and interior are decorated very nicely with flowers and plants. The ambience was very comfortable that I would love to sit and enjoy my latte and cookie but I had to head back to work. The coffee shop has a high ceiling height. They are selling some merchandises in one of the corners.

A barista who took my order was very friendly. She greeted, smiled and chatted with me.

The latte tasted great. The cookie was even more delicious than ones that I bought at other coffee shops. I would never
