Nicky Reid obtained her Law Degree from the University of Liverpool (with Honours) in 1977. She obtained a Master's Degree from the University of British Columbia and was called to the Bar in 1981. She became a Family Law Mediator in 1994. Ms. Reid gained experience in a number of areas of law as a junior lawyer, including real estate, corporate commercial, wills, estates, general litigation, and motor vehicle claims.
This broad experience proved invaluable when she chose to make family law her primary area of practice. In 1994, she set up her own practice, focusing on family law. In 1999, she moved to her current location and maintains a busy family law practice. The practice is located in the heart of View Royal, easily accessible from downtown or the Westshore.

I have practiced family law in Victoria since 1982. I am capable of solving complex business issues relating to property division and spousal support claims. I strive for the best possible outcome with the least amount of legal intervention. Even the most contentious and complex cases can be resolved through negotiation and/or mediation, but if the need arises, you will be represented by a lawyer with extensive experience in the courtroom.
I have practiced family law in Victoria, BC, for 27 years. It has been my focus to help clients achieve a satisfactory and cost-effective resolution to the issues arising from marriage breakdown through negotiation and mediation rather than resorting to an adversarial Court process. I also practice in the area of Wills and Estates, where I can assist you with a well planned will.
While there are similarities in many family law cases, no two cases are exactly the same. We listen to our clients and our goal is to ensure that each case is handled individually. We truly care about the outcome of your case and have many years of experience in family law and an excellent track record.
There is no "one size fits all" solution for wills and estate plans. Each individual has particular needs and unique circumstances that influence the approach to your planning. We conduct in-depth interviews with each client in order to determine their specific needs and recommend an estate plan which will work for them.

Nicky Reid is a brilliant and caring lawyer. She was an unremitting advocate for my children and was determined that a fair settlement be reached so that my kids and I would be okay.
