Services
Welcome to Clyde River Cottages, a family friendly, pet friendly campground, cottage and accommodation business owned by Ruth and Fred Hemeon of Clyde River, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia. Ruth and Fred are long time residents of the county, one of the most important commercial fishing regions in Atlantic Canada.
It's a pleasant drive down the Clyde River Road. The river, on the right, like the tree-lined, country road, twists and turns at every bend. In the fall, the hardwood trees along the the riverbank are a burst of colour.

There are seven one and two bedroom cottages nestled among the hardwood trees (four two-bedroom and three one-bedroom), each on their own lot for added privacy, and given a name corresponding to the type of trees nearby - Birch Cottage, Maple Cottage, Pine Cottage, etc.

Loved the cabin, nice. Handicapped accessible except toilet too low and tub no walk in shower. Friendly staff the hillbilly home sted felling. Wildlife plenty for families or just for two.

This place is very comfy and quiet. We stayed in the Birch cabin. The grounds were just starting to open up from all the covid-19 shutdowns. We weren't prepared to cook anything for our supper when we arrived thinking there would be a canteen or small store but as I said things were just getting ready. So we had no supper. But..the owner Ruth came to the rescue with lobster sandwiches and cake. What saint. I recommend staying here if you're looking for a nice quiet get away. πŸ‘πŸ˜

I have to give this campground a five out of five stars. I can’t think of anything to remove a point. We have stayed here a couple of times and both times it was in the cottages, but we always camp with a big group who also have campers. Everyone seemed to really enjoy it. The sites are large and the place is well maintained and beautifully kept. Lovely green grass and trees everywhere, and cute little ponds sculpted in the landscape. The cottages are well kept and very comfortable. I posted many photos. The lots for the cottages are also better than any other campground I have stayed in, because

Too far out in the boonies for my taste. You cannot get WiFi unless you walk to the office. All crushed rock with a few lawn areas. Literally 1 sink, 1 shower, 1 toilet for ladies, same for men.

This is a Mom and Pop owned campground which we love much better than corporately owned camps. It is well maintained, feels safe, swimming pool, laundry, showers, pond. Kids love catching frogs in the pond. Owners and seasonal people are extremely friendly. River nearby great for kayaking or canoeing..Firepits.

We stayed here in 2010, the cabins were and well cared for. The pool was nice and the paddle boats were a nice touch. I would definitely stay here again. The staff were friendly and accommodating!
