For your convenience, all our lawyers at Adam Miller Kelly Professional Corporation are notaries public and commissioners of oaths. We can witness signatures and commission affidavits and declarations. We also do notarizations and can provide certified true copies and notarial copies of documents and identifications.
Typically, an offer to purchase a property comes with a contractual promise to pay a deposit on acceptance of the offer by the seller. My anecdotal evidence for average deposit amount in Ottawa for used residential homes is one to two percent of the purchase price. It's usually recommended that sellers try and get as large of a deposit as possible.

Jennifer is amazing! Jennifer was my wife's real estate lawyer when she bought her first residence and we went with Jennifer again when we bought our next residence. It was my first time dealing with a real estate lawyer, but Jennifer made everything very seamless. She keep the communications transparent throughout the process and she explained everything to us in simple terms when going through the document. We bought our house through Adam Miller Kelly. Jennifer Gaspar was our lawyer and she was very informative from day one. She explained the entire process to us and set our expectations with respect to what expect on and before our closing date. This was very helpful as the entire home buying process can be pretty stressful. On the day before closing, she sat down with us and went through all the documents we had to sign and explained each and every single one of them in detail. She answered all of our questions clearly. On the closing day, everything went smoothly and there were no issues.

This well established local law firm has been around for years! The business has grown along with the expansion of the true west end of Ottawa in Kanata and Stittsville.
We've used the services of AMK for several transactions when buying and selling our houses. Yes, we've moved often! The staff are pleasant and efficient. They also offer service for wills.
We just heard that 2 of the senior lawyers are retiring this year, but well experienced staff is still available to help.
I would recommend them.
