Westbrook Counselling Services is a private counselling practice designed to meet the needs of families living in the Cochrane area. Appointments are typically 50 minutes in length. Fees for counselling are $190 per session payable at the end of each session. For your convenience, we accept cash, debit cards, visa, and master card.
Many people have health insurance plans or extended health benefits to cover the cost of sessions. Our counsellors are also providers for several Employee Assistance Programs. Joanne is an approved therapist for Health Canada's Indigenous Services. Westbrook Counselling Services was established by Joanne Burns, a Registered Psychologist.

Services
Joanne came to the Cochrane area in 2005 from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. In 1998, Joanne practiced in a community counselling centre where she saw clients of all ages and with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, addictions, grief, and relationship struggles.
After transferring to a school setting, Joanne worked with children, teens, and their families helping to improve self esteem, confidence, social skills, relational skills, and academic success.Joanne was instrumental in training youth as part of the leadership program, Peacemakers. The program was designed to teach young people the skills needed to avoid being targets and to make healthy choices in their lives.

Joanne is a master of active listening and is able to get right to the issue in short time. Joe Anne connects with people regardless of age, gender , etc.
We have reached for her services as required over an 11 year period of time and travel a ways to do so.
