Baseboards are used to create a great transition between the walls and floor of a room. Baseboards also provide a means of protecting the walls from being bumped by furniture. Typically baseboards should be thinner than the casings in a room to allow for a clean joint where the two meet. However, plinth blocks are sometimes used at the bottom of a casing so that any thickness of baseboard will work.
Crown mouldings are most often used to decoratively finish off a room where the wall meets the ceiling. They are also used commonly at the top of kitchen cabinets. Crown mouldings can also be used creatively to create mantles, door headers, architraves, and cornice assemblies. If you are looking for a little more detail, try creating a "build-up" by combining a crown moulding with an inverted baseboard or trim moulding along the wall.
Trim mouldings provide a great way to finish off a project, create added detail, and to help cover up gaps. They represent the broadest and largest category of mouldings that we carry, encompassing corner mouldings, rope mouldings, quarter rounds, half rounds, full rounds (dowel), cove mouldings, bar rails, counter-top edging, drawer pulls, and accent mouldings.
In addition to our straight railings, we can manufacture curved railings in any of the profiles shown below. Once the profile is chosen, we will supply the appropriate number and size of wood strips (each is approximately thick). These strips are bent and glued together on site by the customer or railing installer (or for an additional charge we can glue them together from a template).
