Please remember when renting a privately-owned cottage, even a higher end one, you must be prepared to "rough it" a little. It is not a hotel or resort. Individual cottage owners may have different tastes and standards than you. It is a cottage in cottage country and insects and mice can occur at any time - expect them as they are a part of cottage living regardless of the cottage price.

I almost rented a cottage off this company but couldn't bring myself to sign the contract after I read it. They ask for 75 dollars for damage insurance and yet if the contract it states if anything is damaged you will be held liable to pay out of your pocket. What is the purpose of paying accidental damage insurance then??? Also the person I was emailing about the rental was very persistant I signed and payed online ASAP. When I stated I would sign tomorrow they stated the owner of the cottage was all of a sudden planning to rent it to a friend on the dates I wanted so I needed to hurry up and

I can't review with a star and I've never rented with this company. However I wonder if the owners know how ridiculous their cancellation policy is. The places look great but not being able to pay by credit card (which gives the buyer recourse) combined with a ridiculous cancellation policy I would think would not be good for business.
