I've been renting canoes from Phil and Tim at Long Lake Cottages & Trailer Park every fall for the past 4 years. The guys working there are good people; they make setting everything up a breeze; and the convenience is out of this world (it's some 10-15 metres from the shop to the launch point). Highly recommended.

Website needs an overhaul but I had a good experience renting a canoe. I wanted to pay $140 to have the canoe taken to Anstruther access point for us because I drive a small car, but Tim talked me out of it. He said they supply the foam blocks for free and he showed us step-by-step how to put the canoe on my car and tie it down properly when we arrived. Saved me the cost of transport đź‘Ť.

I found the website confusing to use for reserving a canoe for our trip. However once we arrived the rental process was simple and easy, loading in the canoe at the sandy beach was great. It turned out I had messed up on the reservation page and accidentally reserved two canoes instead of one. They have a very strict policy on reservation refunds so do be careful and double check your reservation before the 48 hr window closes! They were kind enough to offer to partially reimburse us for my mistake however I think if the website was more user friendly this could have been avoided. The two brothers

Long Lake rentals made our portage trip possible. Conveniently located at an access point, we did not have to worry about getting our canoe to the lake. The online system was easy to use to book our canoes.
Once we arrived, the process was smooth to pick up our rentals. The shop has some great supplies if you've forgotten to pack an essential item!

This is by far the most convenient place to rent a canoe if you’re entering the kawartha highlands from Long Lake! It’s right at the put in point, the staff is super helpful and friendly, and they have a great selection! If you forgot any last minute items they’re available in the shop for you to purchase. I’d rent from them again!

We have rented a Near North kevlar canoe for our multyday trip and were happy. One of the brothers instructed us how to care for a kevlar canoe (they are light but on a fragile side). Canoe had no issues. We went to Vixen lake, it's about 7km paddle and 2 short easy portages away. Beware of motorboat traffic on Long Lake, thought people are mostly nice and gave us a wide berth.

We’ve had an amazing time at the long lake! Everything was easy to book and well organized. Free parking comes with rental. Management keeps the facilities clean and the stuff is very helpful. We didn’t experience any issues with our canoe rental and were very satisfied with the overall experience.
