Welcome to Roma Bakery & Deli, home of Hamilton's famous slab pizza. Roma Bakery was established in 1952 as a small bakery with a door-to-door bread delivery service. Since then Roma has grown into a full-size deli, bakery and hot food retailer serving the good people of Hamilton, Stoney Creek and the entire Golden Horseshoe.
In 1952, when horse-drawn delivery carts were still a familiar sight on the streets of Hamilton, Philip DiFilippo, with wife Pauline, opened a small bakery and bread delivery service in the city's north end. Roma Bakery flourished as customers grew to appreciate the value and quality of the delicious fresh bread and buns it produced daily.

February 1st 2019 my first child was born, I thought that would be the most life changing event of my life... until I ate lunch at Roma's last Friday. Good lord what a meal! I ordered the chicken parm sandwich, Porchetta sandwich and an order of the pasta. Covered everything in peppers and onions. Threw a towel on the hood of my car and went to town. Can't wait for my next visit to Roma.

Recently discovered your lasagnas…the veggie and the mushroom varieties are especially delish! Also pleased that you carry mini versions of my favourite cookie - Belgian/Empire - as well as mincemeat tarts that aren’t too heavy on the pastry (hard to find!). Looking forward to spending the gift card we got for Christmas!

This place has a unique product that had stood the test of time yet from a business stand point they are failing. Store has had zero improvements since the 80's. The lay out inside is not customer/employee friendly at all when busy. Product selection is poor... White pizza sells out daily before noon, why not adjust and make more? Today I looked on the website and called, both said they were open (answering machine said we are open but busy), only to drive 25 minutes in the snow to find out is closed. These are basic things that at this point should not be happening. So much potential but I guess

my first time trying the roma pizza squares was as a minor niner at cathedral boys high school, as there was a local variety store that sold them for 55 cents a square. after trying once, it became addictive lol.
over the decades roma has maintained a consistent taste and quality with the signature item. while they do sell the bread-and-sauce slabs at fortinos and food basics, i prefer to drive to stoney creek to get my fix.
today when i enjoy the squares, it's not just a

First time trying this place. Awesome authentic Italian food. Very generous portions for lunch options. Hot menu as well as cold. I had the Porchetta sandwich...delicious and massive about sums it up! Great selection of desserts too. Bakery goods of course are available such as a variety of breads/buns. Definitely if you are in the are and want lunch or treats...you will not be disappointed. Will 100% be back!

Literally the best! This was my second time ordering catering and I was once again not disappointed. Everything was absolutely delicious. The portions were very generous. All my guests went back for seconds and then some.
And if ever in doubt, get the potatoes! So yummy. Thank you once again for making my event perfect.

I pretty much enjoy going to their Stoney Creek bakery; they have variety of products to choose from: , pizza slabs (Pepperoni, Garlic & Oil, etc.), variety of hot food for lunches, bread, lasagna, pizza dough, cheese, dessert, pie, donuts and cake.
The first time I went there, I got Red Velvet and Carrot cake slices and I can say it was the best Red Velvet cake I've ever tasted. After that, any time I go there, I make sure I add a slice of Red Velvet Cake to my order.
There is always a lineup outside the store at lunchtime and I believe it is worth every minute waiting in that lineup, because

I grew up eating Roma pizza. They sold it at my high school cafeteria and I had at least one piece EVERY day. I still can't get enough of it. The delicious tomato sauce with olive oil on light crispy bread is to die for. My brother was so excited to tell me he found it at Fortino's in Oakville. I see they're also sold at Metro and Sobeys. Now, if they can only be convinced to expand to Toronto, my life would be complete!

I was in the neighbourhood looking for a new home with my wife and kids. I decided to stop at Roma because I'd heard of their porchetta and I'm a big fan of porchetta. It's the day before Superbowl Sunday and they had a special that was supposed to be order ahead. Phil came out and asked me what I needed, I asked for a porchetta and said I wouldn't be able to make it back tomorrow as I'm in from out of town. He went into the back and came out with a fresh and hot porchetta that he'd plan to take home for himself.
The pizza and the porchetta was amazing. But more than

One of my Favourite lunch spots, and I make the drive to Stoney Creek just for Roma's! The pizza is awesome, the Porchetta sandwich is off the hook and they go through a few trays of meat every lunch so no worries it's fresh and delicious. They have a great hot table at lunch time with a new special every day.
You can pick up bread, buns, pizza and tons of yummy sweets and cakes.
The servers are very friendly and helpful.
There is a reason they get a line at lunch all the food is fantastic!

This place has that old school Italian bakery feel to it, but their food doesn't match the upper echelon of Italian bakeries I've encountered over the years.
I had their "specialty" which was their porchetta sandwich. For one thing I could see the porchetta was sitting on the counter for god knows how long. Certainly not made to order. Nevertheless, I persisted on ordering their house speciality. I found the porchetta to be fatty, arid, and really lacked flavor. The bread that went with it was equally stale. The only plus to the sandwich was the cheese and grilled mushroom

Roma Bakery has been in operation in the Hamilton area for over 60 years and everyone knows of it if you have grown up in our working class town.
As a child I have become infatuated with their plain pizza, which has become the taste of home. I have been away from home for years, and it is the only thing I crave from home for some reason. Other travelers I have met miss their Vegemite or Ghost Pops, but for me, its their pizza.
I am a person who can eat an obscene amount of food, at the same rate of a person suffering from obesity, and their pizza is always the one thing that can fill my void
