Great menu selection and atmosphere. It feels very covid safe. 4.5 / 5 overall. I was feeling a bit tired that day so the food did not give me a lasting impression. I’ll have to try it again on another visit.

Had passed this place multiple times and finally one random night, decided to go ahead and try it. DID NOT DISAPPOINT!
The menus are hung right by your table which is nice as they’re massive, also giving your table some privacy in this open concept restaurant. We had the aburi-style oshi sushi which was TRULY amazing and it was fairly priced for the amount you get.
Such a good place in Coquitlam to go get some food and then run around to get some dessert or hang out at the nearby cafes ☺️

I got the udon combo which had udon, spinach gomae, chicken karaage and salmon oshi. It was really delicious and surpassed my expectations. I don't usually like oshi but it was good here and they seem to have a lot more salmon on top than other places that serve oshi. The udon broth was simple but flavorful and the karaage + gomae were great too. I would definitely come back here, might be my new go-to sushi restaurant! This was also incredibly cheap - $17 for all of this. Can't beat that!

Awful, tasting sushi. I decided to give this new place a try, but this is the last time. My whole family was complaining non-stop. Raw fish was not fresh, the oshi were too saucy and poorly assembled and the crispy salmon roll tasted like cold dry plastic. Based on the price point and Google reviews I really expected more.

The restaurant looks lovely when you walk in. They observed social distancing. We were seated quickly. We were brought tea that was hot and tasted. We were Impressed with their extensive menu selection. The miso soup was hot and flavourful. The prices were on the higher side but the flavour and presentation made it worth it. Very classy experience. Unique rolls. Perfect bite every time. It took a little while to get service and pay when we needed to leave. We’re looking forward to coming back again.

Delicious food, impeccable service and perfect ambience for a quick bite, a catch up with a friend, a date, or a family meal.
We had the sets, i ordered the Donkotsu Noodle Set and my friend had the Cold Soba Set.
Flavourful broth, noodles were perfect, neither too soft nor too chewy. Chashu was alright, not melt in your mouth but still delicious. Salmon Aburi rice ball, creamy, delicious and highly recommended. Veggie tempura, crispy and well done.
Service was amazing, the waitress that day was attentive all the time and though it was busy, was always there to fill up our tea/water without

The sushi is good. It has a wait time around 30 minutes around peak times during dinner. The staff are friendly and all wearing mask. I did take out and it took about 30 minutes to get a couple of sushi rolls. The fish taste really fresh and the rice was fluffy. But the rolls aren’t tight so they will fall apart after dipping them into soy sauce. They also don’t take American Express.

Sushi was decent. But creamy pasta was not my taste at all. The taste was complicated. Good service. Still will try other dishes next time.

The food was excellent. Nicely package as you can see in the pics. One minor issue was that i found a bone in my salmon aburi. It was not a huge deal breaker because i was content with the flavor of the food overall but i hope they will improve on this.

I've been back to this place recently (June 2021) and I'm glad that the food is still delicious.

I found the portions a bit small, but that's only because I can eat a lot. My friend was full after eating only half of her order!

I ordered Combo B, which was $16.75 (perhaps a bit on the pricey end), but only because I wanted to try their beef bao bun. The flavour of the bao bun as a whole tasted fresh and meaty, the sauce was creamy and mellow, and the bread was light and fluffy. The grilled avocado was delightful as always and it was perfectly ripe. The salmon fritter was slightly

It's good that you can find a decent Japanese restaurant in Coquitlam. It's actually running by Korean. They open daily except Sunday, so I can only go here and buy and try their food on Saturday as I need to work on weekdays.

I ordered their combo A with beef bao bun and simple Oshi. The miso soup came with combo A. It was only ok but nothing was too special about it. I posted a photo of combo A here. You can see it came with some spicy California roll, a beef bao bun, grilled avocado with a special sauce, katsu (deep fried pork cutlet) and some coleslaw salad. I think combo A is a

Hey All,

We have ordered here 8 times and kept on going back and back and back..

..however we're going to be going elsewhere from now on, last night for a family members birthday we ordered and have (..and currently) are experiencing THE WORST feeling after eating at Shio.

All night and today we are still feeling the effects. This is not food poisoning. We believe it's some MSG or other sulfite / chemical. Headache, dry feeling, nausea..

Honestly in past orders it has been phenomenal, amazing in quality, we have never experienced this until now. What I'm currently feeling

I constantly order takeout from this place via Uber Eats, and it has become one of my favourite places around the area for Japanese food and sushi.

The combos are pretty worth it for the variety of food that you get. For example, my favourite udon combo comes with a sesame spinach salad, chicken karaage with mayo, a whole salmon oshi roll, and a half bowl of plain udon. I feel like I get a taste of all my favourites for a reasonable price.

I would recommend the Chicken Karaage, the Salmon and Tuna Oshi sushi, and the Udon. The udon broth is super nice- I feel like it has the perfect richness

A friend of mine had told me to try this place a while back , but finally had a chance to do so. Currently , everything is 20 % off because they are doing take out only. They have spots to sit while you wait for your food order. When it is not so busy , a wait time of around 10 minutes. So many delicious combos and rolls ! We got the Katsu combo and the roll combo ( not shown). The Katsu was crisp and not greasy- also held its crunch in a take out box after 20 min while being transported to Lafarge Park to be enjoyed physically distant from good company. My favorite feature of the combo was the

Shio is my neighborhood sushi spot! Situated right near Glen drive right by the mall, it's a great spot to grab a nice lunch box or meal!

They have a great selection of sushi and my go to's usually include the agadashI tofu, salmon cream cheese or their creamy salmon oshi (which is a great price!!). They have a great selection of different oshi (presses sushi) to try! My only wish is that their spicy mayo was a little creamier. I like putting it with my salmon cream cheese or salmon maki rolls.

The service is always amazing (mind you - I'm a regular there so they know my order

My favourite sushi joint in Central Coquitlam, and a fairly reasonably priced one at that. What I love about this place is the ability to aburi (flame torch) any of the rolls on the menu and that makes it taste so much better. I've tried most things on the menu although my favourite s are the aburi salmon oshi and the aburi California roll. The price is very good for oshi sushi compared to other places. Get chicken karaage for your appetizer!

Good for a quick lunch bite, 3.5/5 stars

Service 4/5 - we had to go find our waiter/waitress a couple times

Atmosphere 5/5: clean, love interior and their table wares

Food: 3.5/5

Fried egg 3.5/5- the egg was delicious but the sauce was too sweet. I had to wipe off some of the sauce to find the perfect balance. The egg was cooked beautifully I can eat 2,3 of the them no problem. Maybe next time I will ask them to have their sauce on the side.

Sunomono 3/5 - sunomono is designed to be sweet and have tangy taste in your mouth. But I didn't find the elements in the sunomono that I had.

This is quickly becoming one of my all time favourite sushi restaurants. It is a little higher in price point, but WORTH IT. The dishes are incredibly refined, and every component of every dish is flavorful and seasoned beautifully.

I really enjoy the varied combinations which all come with unique and modern sides, such as the grilled avacado, tuna tataki with a flavorful ponzu sauce with multiple garnishes, and salmon tempura on a bed of almost a pickled coleslaw. Again every thing is seasoned to the 9!! The oshi is also very good, flavorful and saucey like I like it!! :) I also really like

Been passing by this restaurant quite a few times and wanting to try this place but didn't get a chance to until recently for my friend's' bday I highly recommend their oshi platter. I love the shrimp and saba oshi on the platter. The salmon oshi we ordered was way too spicy for me. I like their tuna toro and beef carpaccio as well. I never really liked tuna sashimi because I don't like the mushy texture and this tuna toro pairing with sweet soy and green onions is just too good resist

They have affordable set menu which includes oshi for around $15. They don't do reservation

There's a new sushi place in town! Shio Japanese opened its doors recently and my dear parents found some time in our dinner schedule to give it a try! This is located in the same spot as the now-closed Legend Fish. They seem to have renovated a bit, looks nice and clean inside with a woody themed interior.

The prices are definitely higher-end but definitely worth the pricing as the sashimi was fresh and good quality. Everything was delicious, I found the Chirashi don ($18) to be a highlight because it was crafted with such care and had Ika! I love me some good Ika and it was definitely the
