I've been going here for the last month and it's honestly the BEST yoga studio I've ever been a part of! What I love most about this place is the VARIETY of classes offered: from your typical Vinyasa and Hatha, to Yin, Shakti, Bhakti & more! They even incorporate sound healing & aromatherapy into some of their weekly classes. This place is the real deal...it's not just the western/hipster form of "yoga," but rather a fully-involved, authentic practice that includes mantras, meditations & breath work in addition to the asanas. I've been doing yoga for the past 10 years, yet I've learned something

I am new to yoga and was convinced to drop in to a restorative class. I was intimidated at first but it felt relaxing and easy to follow and was exactly what I needed and certainly will be back. It felt like experienced people enjoyed it and I was given one on one attention when needed. Nice space and wonderful staff

What a disappointment! I was passing through Squamish and dropped in for a class. Not sure if they are short of good yoga teachers in Canada but this was awful and I'm pretty sure it was the owner of the studio as well. Don't waste your time. Sad.

Attended the Vinyasa class today and had to ask if I was in the right class. This class started with abs and strange movements that were supposed to be a warm-up. I had to really pay attention to the instructor's very convoluted descriptions and ended up not aware of my breathing at all.
Not a good class and not sure about any of the other instructors.

Moving to Squamish from NZ in February, has been more than a yoga studio for me: it has been the catalyst for making new friends and my immersion into this amazing community. I cherish my time at there... from the people I share my practice with, to the warm vibe of space, to the learnings I receive every class from the incredible depth and experience of Tanya and Shala's teachers. Tanya, mauruuru koe ataahua wahine (thank you beautiful lady) x

Love love Shala. It’s a beautiful, welcoming and warm studio and truly a community. Plenty of selection of classes and times so it’s easy to have a regular practice. What I love most are the teachers ❤️ - super supportive, lots of experience and really care. I’ve been practicing for 7 years and Shala has brought my practice to a deeper level.

I've been practicing yoga for more than 20 years in many different studios with many different teachers and I absolutely love the Shala. Tanya is an amazing teacher. She consistently strikes the perfect balance between integrating ancient yoga theory into a modern practice. She is attentive, caring, authentic, and funny. The Shala has a welcoming… atmosphere and you don't find the snotty yoga attitude here that I have come across in yoga gyms where it's more about exercising and not about the actual intergration of the practice into your daily life 😋 I highly recommend taking a class

I did the Vinyasa class last night with Tanya and was pretty confused after we did some ab work and floor exercises that did not have any flow or breath component whatsoever.
The instructor was at the same time verbose and confusing, and many postures that could have been explained with one fifth of the words she used were lost on me.
I… sympathetically asked if I was in the Vinyasa class and was met with a smart response. I was sincerely confused because in 18 years of practising yoga, I have never been so disappointed.
In Vinyasa, I expect to link breath and movement. Period. Yes, each

Did a class with the owner of this studio evening. Pretty sad to say it the worst yoga class I've ever done. It was listed as a vinyasa class...
-10 minutes of chanting -10 minutes of abs and single leg random kicking in the air -15 min of roll on the floor stretching -When did start poses 3 times we did the same poses 3 times, most laying on… the floor. Zero warm up (ex.1st pose pigeon an intense hip opener) into super awkward moves, did not flow with breath at all , instruction was hard to follow and just all round BAD.
I know crystal and Julia are great instructors so there is still hope

Wow! This was like stepping back into the authenticity of India and their devotional spiritual practice. From music & singing, mantras and mudras - this is the closest and most powerful studio I've been at, ever, on the western side of the world. Thank you so much. 🙏 🌟

Tonight I had my first Yin class/ Yoga class in far to long and I was simply surprised and delighted by JoDee. Kind, warm and inviting to my initial nerves I completely appreciated the helpful suggestions and… direction. The blanket at the end is the best touch and I am looking forward to discovering this studio in my new hometown
