Services
Over the years Soma Studio has become a well-known massage clinic in Vancouver for pregnancy massage, with thanks to our gifted group of prenatal therapists and our special pillowing system. However, we provide therapeutic massage services in a wide range of techniques for both women and men-and even babies!
Massage therapy is an effective and natural choice for managing injury and providing relaxation, while moving the body toward wellness. Therapeutically, massage has been found to positively affect circulation and psychological well being while reducing tensions in the body. It can noticeably reduce the effects of stress, realign joints and muscles and improve recovery time after physical activity.
Techniques utilized by our massage therapists during treatment include trigger point therapy, myofascial release, muscle energy, cranial sacral therapy, lymphatic drainage and joint mobilizations. Healing through massage is Lori's lifework. In addition to having more than 20 years of experience as a massage therapist, she co-founded her first massage therapy studio in 1993 and opened Soma Studio on her own in 1999.
Lesley Ormiston brings 15 years of dedicated practice and study to support her clients' towards greater wellness. Her work is inspired by the use of Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine and Yoga. The treatments she offers aim to address the complexity of each person's health challenges so as to effect change at the root of physical, mental and emotional imbalances.
To celebrate Mother's Day this year Soma Studios and Nurture Natal are teaming up for a special live event to offer advice to Pre and Post Natal Mamas. During pregnancy your body experiences a multitude of changes. As your uterus expands with the weight of the growing baby, there is more stress on your back, neck, shoulders and abdominal muscles.

Soma Massage Therapists are wonderful and at times interchangeable due to how busy they are they often share files for clients. this is a wonderful option because it can be quite challenging to get an appointment in this busy studio. There are many folks to choose from with specialty areas. I am thrilled that they have a few folks trained in lymphatic drainage along with other body work techniques. It's great that they have an online booking system to facilitate the process and share information. Everyone is very diligent with COVID protocols. Most significant is they are welcoming of different

After two years of suffering tendonitis on my elbows, Ali Joy from Soma East finally fixed it. I must have tried at least a dozen RMT’s in the last little bit and Ali's approach was the most strategic of them all. She has a very holistic understanding of the body’s reaction to injuries which allows her to really come up with an effective approach to help relieve and eliminate pain.

I went to this studio after booking online and was informed that I was at the wrong location. I was not aware that there was another location (I had used the link to the site I found through Soma East online), and did not have time to drive from East Van to Kitsilano. I was expecting to be re-booked, but was charged $60 for an appointment that I could not attend. I agree rent should not come out of the therapist's pocket in this case, but feel this should have been covered by the studio as it is unclear there is more than one location. Surprised and disappointed by this customer service.

Found this massage therapy close to my neighborhood and thought I would give it a try. Their booking calendar is very full and appointments needs to be booked months in advance for any evening or weekend appointments. Of the few appointments I've booked, 3 of them were cancelled by the massage therapists. Their fees are very high and I am not fully covered, even with employee benefits ($75 was the maximum for massage).

Was looking for a place near my house and could not believe my luck. Very convenient online booking system. So far I have only been 2x and saw Graeme. For my upper shoulder and back pain. He was very prompt. Informative and did a really great job. Gave me tips on what I could be doing better.
The studio is clean and spa like. With thoughtful touches like a jewelry bowl.
The only drawback is it is very busy and there are not a lot of slots open. Most of the time you cannot get an appt quickly if you have an issue. Instead you need to book 1-2 weeks in advance. Otherwise very happy with this place

I've been coming here on and off for years. Only reason it's "off" is because every RMT I like gets busy so fast! I find it relaxing and clean, atmosphere is nice. I'm not chatty and go for upper back and neck pain mostly. I wasn't too thrilled about a rip option suddenly showing up on the machine though. I thought that was odd for a clinic. A spa yes....not a massage clinic. Always makes me feel funny and I never know what to do. Always parking either on street out front or on nearest side street; never a problem.

Sturdy 3.75 stars, especially for a newbie. But for a veteran like me, there's others out there that accept AMEX, offer a resort-like experience & space, and connected to insurance companies directly.
For East side though, it's a nice place, got Yaletown feel to it, decor wise. Rooms are spacious and why I'd consider returning, is the immense skylights coming in. Probably not the best if you're looking to fall asleep.
Nice, oversized washrooms.
RMT was good, even did my feet, bare-handed. Heck, I should rate them a 4.
Nice that they offer online bookings but didn

I've been to this location 2 times and once at the other soma location. I prefer this location more since it is more spacious and closer for me. You can book your massages online which is great since you can see what fits your schedule best. My RMT was Kaely and I really enjoyed her massages, the best part was the pregnancy pillows they have, I definitely recommend this place for a pregnancy massage wish I knew about these pillows earlier. The only negative thing I have to say about this is that when you pay there is a tip section on the credit card machine. I always get confused as
