Tucked away in the heart of Victoria, Anar Food and Grocery is the perfect mom and pop shop. Persian style! Since opening doors in 2014 our main goal has always been and will always be to bring a taste of Persia closer to you. We aim to create a relaxed family oriented environment where you will find all the necessary ingredient to create your own delicious Persian or Middle Eastern dish.

Our fridges and shelves are bursting with a huge range of goodies and our deli provides many creative dips and spreads that will make you come back for more. We also understand that sometimes you would like a ready-made authentic Persian stew that tastes just like your grandmother's recipe or a kebab that tastes far superior to the kebab shops in the streets of Tehran; we've got you covered there as well!

Halva was also delicious and very special because I didn’t have it for over 18 years!!!!!

Worst persian food I've ever had. I got really sick from it on top of it. Really sad that Persian kabob closed down. This city is really lacking in good quality ethnic food.

This is a great place when you’re looking for some specific ingredients for recipes that the regular grocery stores don’t carry. The staff are excellent and we managed to come out with way more than was on our list.

Most of the foods and stuffs' are half price in Vancouver and their expiry date has already passed. Garbage food and very cheap ingredients, Stay away if you want to stay healthy

My family and I have been shopping at Anar for almost a decade and we have not had anything but pleasant service and amazing food. True that Vancouver offers more options and lower prices, but that goes for anything that is on the mainland, so please consider your words. I appreciate the fact that I can have access to items I need. The owners always take the time to make recommendations when I am wanting to try a new recipe or just have questions about an ingredient. For those that have left one-star reviews, you should ask yourself if was it an one-time occurrence, new staff, or Mars is in retrograde

Excellent Persian food!
We tried the Kobideh, Donair, and Chicken wrap.
I will definitely be back to try their Baghali lamb later.
