Propeller Coffee
Tucked away in Toronto's Junction district, just around the corner from Lansdowne Station, you'll find Propeller Coffee. Since winning Micro-Roaster of the Year in 2016, our reputation for high-quality coffee has made us a name with coffee lovers across Toronto and around the world. We are proudly B Corp certified, an honour signifying our focus on sustainable practices and community out-reach efforts.

Whether you're looking for a coffee partner for your cafe, office or specialty grocery store, a gorgeous backdrop for an event or an inspiring place to meet with co-workers or friends, let us take you under our wing.
Services
Propeller only buys from the most experienced and knowledgeable farmers because they produce the highest quality specialty beans. These coffees taste incredible, are tough to find but are worth the extra effort. We then dedicate ourselves to making certain every batch of coffee we roast meets or exceeds the standards our customers have come to trust.
Losel is the founder, coffee lover and strategy guy. He believes quality, commercial success and sustainability are not only compatible but mutually reinforcing. What do you like about coffee? There's something deeply compelling and humanistic about seeing green beans arrive in a burlap sack from Ethiopia or Brazil, and then watching the magic happen using a mix of both traditional and modern gear & skills.
Three unique Discovery Collections to choose from - there is truly something for everyone. Collections include three bags each, representing a range of roast and flavour profiles to take you on an adventure through our menu. It's a great way to explore our lineup and a superb gift for the coffee enthusiast in your life.
We know you have many choices in where and how you spend your money. Please know that buying from a small independently owned and operated business like ours not only keeps a unique and community focused coffee business alive, it genuinely makes us smile knowing how much you care. We love our community, friends, and coffee!
With Propeller's coffee subscription, you're in control. You choose how many bags of coffee you want, what type of coffee you want and how often you get it. Need more coffee? Add another bag to your next order. Because our subscriptions are fully customizable, you can make changes on the fly to suit your current needs and be sure to never run out of coffee again.

Not only does Propeller have some of the best coffee in Toronto, but the service here is always exceptional! Their covid protocols also make me feel safe and comfortable. Huge 5 stars and thank you to the gang at Propeller - keep up the good work!

Great spot with good coffee and a great space to work from (when we aren’t in lock down!). They have the huskee cup program, are a b corp and will use your own mug, if you bring it…so bring your own cup and don’t be part of the trash problem ;)

Amazing spot for studying, so much natural light and the huge tables are very comfortable. The space is absolutely perfect! I usually get an oat latte, which was great as well as their seasonal apple hot cider, although I didn't find their food options particularly appealing. It would be nice if empanadas came with sauce and they had more variety in their snack options.

Propeller is a great, tucked away spot that was quite busy pre-covid. They have a walk through window for ordering now, which includes purchasing beans... Unfortunately the staff I had take my order didn't get it correct - ordered 2 bags of the lightest/blondes roast the had in full bean and instead got the darkest 🤦🏻‍♂️
Didn't notice until I got home, but I can gift this instead. Better luck next time

Propeller Coffee is one of my favourite cafe space in Toronto. I always feel I am welcome here no matter how busy the location is. Pre-covid times I liked to take my laptop with me, enjoy a cuppa, and work from there. Speaking of which, I find it a great idea to have big tables instead of a lot of individual seating, since this space can be shared - as well as ideas and creativity! The staff is professional staff and flexible when it comes to a more specific order. I often restock my coffee beans for home from Propeller; the selection is huge, and they can always recommend something new/exciting

A hidden gem, in the most unassuming place. This coffee shop is behind a building and you'd have no reason to even drive by here unless you were parking illegally to use the subway from Lansdowne station or you were visiting someone at the building - really, no reason! So, naturally, when I was craving a tea and saw this place, my expectations weren't high. Man, was I surprised! The instant I walked in, I fell in love with how beautiful the space was, very industrial, high ceilings look but the decor definitely fits the space. (I later found out that they host events and weddings here

No pour-over available on the day (Sunday afternoon) I visited. The drip coffee was not exactly inspiring. Some beans on shelves were roasted more than three weeks ago. But this spacious gem in an industrial area provides a great, co-working space vibe to people who prefer to spend hours working on their laptops. High ceiling is a big plus and its music choice never fails :)

Spacious and vibrant third wave coffee spot that pairs delicious baked goods with expertly poured coffees. Solid selection of at-home coffee equipment and accessories to go with the selection of their beans for sale.

Got a couple of bags of coffee from here, but it was hard to find freshly roasted coffee as most of them seemed to be about 10 days old. In addition to that, the roasted-on date stickers were inconveniently placed at the bottom of each bag. After looking through twenty or so bags, I went over to the counter and asked the cashier if they had any freshly roasted coffee. She seemed annoyed by my question, but at least had a somewhat helpful answer. In the end, I left with two bags of coffee, but not the ones I came for because I couldn't find any that were recently roasted. In fact, I only managed

This place is great.
Solid design, modern. On 2 visits; genuinely 'nice' staff.
Clean washrooms available, excellent addition to this area, hopefully it continues to grow.
Most importantly; EXCELLENT flat white/espresso.
The ACE (bought for home), A+.

This place is tucked away, and for us it was a destination on a nice cool Saturday morning. I wanted to check it out because it also has a roasters and I was curious. It was in an interesting location and I would have never found it, as it's very industrial. Inside is really nice and the drinks / food were good. Staff were very accommodating and helped us clean up AND brought us a new steamed milk after our two year old dumped it all over the floor. it would be a great place for meetings as it is quite spacious. There was a group planning a wedding close by with their wedding planner

Great space, nice staff, amazing coffee
Ok, it's in the middle of nowhere even though it's really close to the subway.
What a gorgeous huge space! I have seen online that a lot of community events are hosted here.
I love coffee but travel so much I never have time to enjoy it. Staff took the time to help me understand the difference in the many methods they can prepare it here (drop, espresso, pour-over, clover).
Straight up I had one of the best cups of coffee in recent memory.
Perfect place to meet people to work on a project, host events or just get together.

I really appreciated the discreet location of the coffee shop. Regardless of how non-central it was, it seemed like people definitely knew about it as it was very busy when I went, on a weekday early afternoon. They had so many delicious looking sweets on display and the shop itself smelled like freshly baked cinnamon buns. A great place to go with a group or socialize but wouldn't recommend it as a study spot as it can get fairly loud. The only downside to my experience there was that I really didn't enjoy the coffee itself. I tried the espresso and couldn't finish it. If you like

Love this shop. My fav in TO. Roasts are delicious. In a total ghetto neighbourhood but you'll forget once you enter and are whisked away by caffeinated delights. Get a pour over.
This place does it for me big time!

It's a cool and minimalist space. Lots of big tables and lots of light through the window. The drip coffee was nice and smooth, as well as the latte. We also got a rhubarb muffin and a sausage breakfast muffin. We were here on a Friday afternoon, lots of people are working of their computers.

A super great atmosphere with friendly staff
The tables are set up in a way that is suitable for both completing a serious job and having a conversation.
The mint tea was refreshing and pleasant.
Finding a parking spot was a little bit hard, but it is definitely worth to find a place a little bit far.
The place has a main are and room surrounded by glasses. Overall it as a bright and happy space.

3.5 stars overall. Service and space is a 4 star experience though!

Propeller Coffee is a local coffee roaster and from trying various cafes around Toronto, I've found their single origin bean to be a growing favourite. This particular location is hidden ... you would never think that down a gritty industrial road would have this little gem of a coffee spot. The space itself is a modern loft like space with a nice vaulted ceiling and a large space. It's so large that they rent out this spot for special events including weddings. I've tried to come here twice before only to

I would rate this tucked away gem more stars if we could please have a price list on the food and drink. I find it elitist to not have some basic information to go by.
That is all.

Short and sweet: my favourite coffee in Toronto.

Doubly endorsed for: great work spot, with many seats filled but a healthy (but generally low-volume) buzz going on during workdays.

Food is fine if you're hungry, but definitely not the thing to focus on at Propeller. The coffee though? That's worth a shuffle out of your way to get.

Yelp note: a little hidden on Wade Avenue; Google Maps and CityMapper are your friends, gang!

This is a great spot for coffee and getting some work done as a hipster trendy cool person (Macbook required). Come by and get a great customer service from all the team and quite tasty coffee!

Skip the food but stay for the multiples coffee options that most coffee places don't venture in. Great ambiance and work atmosphere!

Recommend!

Vibes? Check. Delicious coffee? Check. Friendly staff? Check.
This coffee shop reminds me of one of the most popular ones in Nashville (where I live) called Barista Parlor. Plus, propeller had "espresso tonic", a coffee drink I've been craving for 2 months since my last trip to NYC. Will definitely be back here! It's tucked away so you'd never just pass by it... But worth the trek :)

Location: Being from Montreal, I couldn't even begin to tell you how to get here. It's in a ghetto-esque part of town where you would never really expect to find this type of coffee house. We took the street car (or bus - I forget) to get here but unless you live in the neighbourhood, you might want to drive. I would definitely consider Propeller to be of the 'hidden gem' variety.

The place: Loved it. The space resembles a large loft, with garage-style windows making up two of its walls, beautiful wood tables (communal-style) and a large bar. They also have a tasting room
