Services
Bob Simpson established our firm in 1968 as R.W. Simpson Notary Public. He was one of the first Notaries in British Columbia to practice exclusively as a Notary Public. What's more, he was the first British Columbia Notary Public to draw mortgages for Canadian Chartered banks. In 1981, his son Dean Simpson joined his father and practiced under the banner of Simpson and Simpson with Scott Simpson joining the family business in 1992.
Dean Simpson has been a Notary Public in BC for 35 years and is a partner in the family firm. Dean began his education with a Business Marketing Diploma from BCIT followed by studies to become a Notary, and has most recently served the communities of Chilliwack and Abbotsford. Over the years, he has participated in various business associations such as Rotary and the Vancouver Executives Association.
The role of your Notary is to prepare and register all of the relevant paperwork while ensuring that all funds are transferred to the appropriate parties. Think of our job as that of a facilitator. If you are a Buyer, you may be reluctant to hand over hundreds of thousands of dollars on the hope that you will receive title to your new home.

I have dealt with multiple notaries for different reasons over the last couple years. The last couple times have been with Simpson notaries. Ernie has been a pleasure to do business with, extremely friendly, very knowledgeable, all around the best service you could receive. Simpson notaries will be the only notary I will be dealing with in the future. Highly recommended!

Critical: Professionalism
I arrived at their office and was left waiting several minutes past my appointment time with no explanation then the notary arrived and stamped and filled out my papers in the sloppiest, most unprofessional way possible. My 9 yr old could have done a better job, literally. Like a 5 yr old scrawling out of the lines.

So, my wife and I went in and spoke with one of their Notaries. When we left, we figured we were set for them to handle the documents for the sale of our home. It is about 3 weeks from close and now our realtor says he received and email stating that Simpson is too busy and will not be able to assist. This is totally unacceptable as it was stated that they would do it for us and had the date weeks ago! That is extremely unprofessional, in my opinion!! Luckily our realtor was able to get us another Notary to close our sale.
