Services
Hamilton Soccer is the governing body of soccer in Hamilton, Brantford and Paris. An extension of Canada Soccer and Ontario Soccer, we work to support, promote, and facilitate standards based soccer to grow the game in our region. By supporting our member clubs, leagues, and academy we ensure they have the resources, training and ability to service their participants to the best of their ability.
Our region is steeped in soccer history. Hamilton has celebrated many championships and milestones. From Italian friendlies to Scottish tournaments, the region has hosted and developed incredible talent. In 1995 and 1996, local historian Colin Jose recorded and documented important Hamilton Soccer moments in his book "100 Years of Steel City Soccer".
Hamilton Soccer provides direction for aspiring players looking to learn more about how they can actively get involved in playing soccer. Our guiding principle is that players of all ages and abilities should have the opportunity to enjoy the game of soccer and grow as participants and people. Through long term player development, players will be able to learn and compete at appropriate levels throughout their lives.
Our region is one of four in the country where a player can develop from amateur to professional status while exclusively playing for teams in our district. Below showcases the Hamilton Soccer Player Pathway and the clubs in our region at each stage of development. Utilize the image and information below to determine what level you are at and what your next stage of development is.
The Spectator Cup was commissioned in 1896 and remains the oldest continuous team award in North America. Its origins are truly based in Hamilton and is awarded to the best soccer teams in the District while also raising proceeds for children. This Hamilton tradition continues today as all profits are donated to the Hamilton Spectator Summer Camp Fund.
