Services
Thanks for your interest in Royal City. I believe you've found a great partner to help your child develop and have fun in a safe, inclusive environment. Every year Royal City is host to thousands of boys and girls in many communities across Canada. All children aged 5 to 13 years old are welcome to participate in our weekly programs running during the summer months of July and August.
We are lucky at Royal City because every year we receive many requests to work at or return to our camps. Not only do our staff have experience with children and backgrounds in soccer but they are passionate and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of every Royal City camper. Our caring and responsible staff foster a child centered approach at our camps.
In the communities we host our summer camps, we love to reach out to our local Police Departments, Fire Stations and other community groups and invite them to visit our program. Many of our campers get to meet local firefighters, police officers and other community service professionals and learn more about the people who keep us safe.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our various supporters across the country! Thanks to their generosity, thousands of children get the opportunity to participate in our camps that may not otherwise have the chance. Being a non-profit organization, the Royal City Soccer Club strives to keep the cost of camp as low as possible to make available the opportunity for as many families to participate in our program as possible.
At Royal City, we strongly believe in promoting girls in sport. Do you know that over 40% of Canadian girls between the ages of 3 and 17 are not active in sports? Most experts believe there is a confidence gap between boys and girls. Many psychologists believe that perseverance, failing and taking risks are part of a confidence building process.

This is the 3rd year that my 10 year old Son joins the " Royal City Soccer Camp". It has been an amazing experience for both our Son, as well for us as Parents! Our Son absolutely loves it. He has been able to interact with and to meet other amazing kids of all ages. He has also made some great friendships. Camp is where kids learn about themselves facing fears, trying new things, pushing their boundaries and accepting who they are. Of course all of this is not possible without great leaders and outstanding counselors/supervisors. My Son always expressed how much he loved his supervisors at the

This was an AMAZING camp! This summer I was given the opportunity to work at this camp. It was my first year at this camp as a camp supervisor. I was welcomed very warmly by management, the staff, parents and the campers. I had an incredible summer working here. After being in lockdown for so long, it was thrilling to see the kids being active, socializing and being kids again!
The campers loved the camp so much. Many of which reregister after coming to the camp for one week. I also had plenty of parents inform me that their kids were already talking about coming back to camp in the following

Very disappointing. Terrible camp. I will never book again. They are providing inadequate and unsafe service. No bathrooms, no shelter from the heat. No back up for rainy days and was called to pickup my kids early because of heat exhaustion. When I did complain, management suggested I cancel and get a refund. I did cancel, I was charged $150 for my three kids cancellation fee. They denied a full refund.

Worst camp ever. My two kids did a week at Templeton and all they did was play with Pokemon cards in the broiling sun for the entire week. The camp leaders are unenthusiastic, bored, and there is a total lack of programming or fun or anything. They played soccer for about an hour or less for the entire day. There was no shade structure, so they all clustered under a few trees at the end of the day. Total waste of money. Don't send your kids.

This was the worst day camp my children have ever experienced.
The location was changed after we had already paid in full. The camp ended up being at a neighbour hood park, with no indoor facility and no running water. Kids were expected to use hand sanitizer as a replacement for hand washing after using the porta potty. Swimming in the afternoon was advertised, and although the warned that “we are still trying to secure swimming” they Failed to be transparent about the fact that swimming was definitely not happening. It was 34 degrees and there was nowhere for the kids to refill their water

Today both my boys started their full day camps at Burnaby lake location.
Upon arrival, no one greeted the parents or bothered talked to us. I had to ask who was in charge and their names. They all sat in their chairs and talked amongst each other.
We were disappointed that swimming was not included in the afternoon because that was the highlight for my kids. They said they couldn’t secure a pool in 7 weeks.
I left for 2 hours and I get a call to come get them. One of my kid told me the instructor was mean and strict to him. He said he barely talked and they made him do laps. He was clearly

This is the second year my kids have attended Royal City Soccer Club at the South Calgary location. Definitely a different experience from when my kids attended 2 years ago, but my kids still loved it.
Considering the hurdles the counsellors had to go through -- no pool due to construction, Covid, and unusually smoky, hot weather, they did an excellent job. My kids loved the camp and have wonderful memories of the activities and kids they played with in the weeks they were there. Special thank you to Andres, Justin and the other counsellors at South Calgary, who were so good with the kids and

Monday was the first day for my son in this camp, I had to go pick him up at 12pm as I was worried about him due to a health issue. I found all the kids in the camp squished under a small canopy deprived for shade. My son had signs of heat stress and dehydration and other kids were complaining of sore throat, stomach pain and other symptoms. There is no shade and no indoor facility for kids to cool off while it was more than 35 degrees celsius. My son mentioned the supervisor totally ignored him when he complained many times that it was too hot to handle. There is no place to even fill up their

We are thrilled to hear that Royal City Soccer Club will be kicking off virtual sessions this summer. We were so fortunate to have had our children participate in this camp for many years pre-Covid. In lieu of face to face interaction not being an option right now, the virtual sessions are an excellent alternative. I know my children will be motivated and inspired to stay physically fit and active with engaging and caring coaches. Thank you Royal City for this creative offering.

I am so grateful for the years with Royal City Soccer camps. My son had a blast playing outdoors all day and learning skillls, afternoons at the pool to cool off! I think its fantastic that there are some options with virtual camps this season due to Covid. Its so hard for family owned business to stay afloat during this pandemic. I highly recommend this camp!
