We are proud to be providing eye care to the residents of Milton for more than 40 years. Our practice began in 1975 when Dr. Les Laughren opened a clinic on Main Street. In 1988, the practice moved to its current location at 87 Martin Street. In January of 2016, Dr. Laughren welcomed Dr. Denise Klaming to the practice as his associate.
Optometrists specialize in understanding how the human eye works, as well as assessing diseases and conditions that affect your vision - many of which do not have obvious symptoms. As a parent, you may wonder whether your pre-schooler has a vision problem or when a first eye exam should be scheduled. Eye exams for children are extremely important. Experts say 5 to 10% of pre-schoolers and 25% of school-aged children have vision problems. Early identification of a child's vision problem is crucial because, if left untreated, some childhood vision problems can cause permanent vision loss.

I went for my first appointment at Martin Street Optometry and was so impressed by my experience there. The office environment was warm and welcoming, as were the staff who made me feel taken care of as soon as I entered. The pre-screening tests were completed quickly and with kind service. I saw Dr. Roca, and she was incredibly knowledgable and efficient. She has a great demeanour with her patients, and thoroughly explains the whole process. This was easily the most positive experience I've ever had at an eye appointment. The whole team was welcoming and informative from the moment I walked into the building. The building is extremely clean and the ladies are very organized. Dr. Roca and her team are amazing and I have definitely made the right choice with Martin Street Optometry.

Had my first appointment with Dr Klaming recently. I found her to be very thorough and professional in her examination (I have had history of eye issues and have been to many optometrists). She took the time to review and explain, which I really appreciated. I also have found the support staff at this office to be extremely friendly and professional. Highly recommend their services

I met with Dr. Roca a few weeks ago as my eyes were hurting due to blue light screens. Immediately walking in I felt so welcome by the staff of both Dr. Roca and Dr. Klamming. They greet you politely and make you feel at home right when you walk in the door. Dr. Roca made things simple to understand, and when picking out my glasses afterwards the staff was so great in assisting me.
If you want to go to a optometric clinic where the staff is great, go to Martin St. Optometry! You will not be disappointed! :)

Went here for an Eye Exam recently. The staff here are very friendly, and the doctors are superb! The young lady who did my initial eye measurements with the machines was very knowledgeable, she clearly explained what each machine did when she did my testing. Dr. Klaming also explained everything to me in a way that was easy to understand. The other two opticians helped me with me billing and they were so kind! I loved how fast my appointment went by, there were no issues or hiccups anywhere with billing or insurance. Everyone was so nice, and I had a great Experience. I highly recommend Martin

Please do not go for the "buy one get one half off" deal. We found out that we were being charged PER LENS, as in each single lens(which is ridiculous in itself). On the bill they make it look like you are getting two pairs of lenses but then give you another bill when you go to pick up the glasses for the other set. we left thinking we had paid the full amount and were not informed that we had only paid for the one pair. We had to pay way more than anticipated and when we complained they only gave us 50.00 which is peanuts compared to the almost 500 extra we had to pay. Very deceitful. Shame on

Our eye exams were about $50 over priced each. With COVID, my wife and I did not feel safe as they had too many people come and go and too close together in the small space. The optometrist took off his mask in front of me to fog and clean his own glasses - completely unaware that he had just sprayed droplets in our small space. Then we did not feel like we fully understood our options for selecting our prescription glasses and feel like we over paid. Then they input our insurance incorrectly so I paid in full and now I have to return to get the credit put back on my card.

This bright, state-of-the-art eye-care clinic gave me a confident feeling the minute I walked through the door. The welcoming, knowledgeable staff directed me through technology based testing. When I met with the eye doctor all my tests were immediately available to her for a detailed and informative eye exam. I left the clinic not only with a prescription for eye glasses but with my many questions and concerns addressed. For example I learned techniques to alleviate my discomfort with “Dry Eyes”. This whole experience was positive and professional coupled with good home town personal attention
