Philip Buytendorp was among the first group of artists that joined our gallery in 1997. Grew up in a family of respected artists, Philip is influenced by both Impressionism and Expressionism. We are very happy to bring to you this spotlight show of Phil's new works accumulated over the past 18 months.
Ray Ward has been spending most of his time painting landscapes and seascapes inspired by visits to the west and north coasts of Vancouver Island. To him, these spaces are important because they give us the land untouched and unaffected by any human concerns. When painting these places, Ward enjoys working in unusual weather conditions as well as very particular moments of light.

Situated within Peninsula Gallery, Mitchell Jones Custom Framing offers his 30+ years of professional experience and creativity. Mitchell will collaborate with you on any size or type of project. He will help you narrow down the wide range of choices and styles with your personal budget in mind. Mitchell believes that informing customers about the framing processes available empowers them to be involved in the customization of their piece.
We can provide appraisal services for your artworks if we have experience representing the artist or otherwise very familiar with the artist. We employ our own record, auction house and other gallery sales records and other published sources to establish fair market value.

This workshop is designed for people who are interested in the oriental painting medium. Both traditional and contemporary techniques of Chinese brush painting will be introduced. You will learn about Chinese ink, rice paper, colour, texture, composition, and the aesthetic principles of Chinese brush painting.

Just a note about the wonderful framer, Mitchell Jones, who is associated with this gallery. His knowledge about framing issues, conservation methods and issues for all mediums, and framing for tricky mediums such as pastels is encyclopedic. And he has a generous spirit. He's willing to work with you, answer your questions, and find the best framing solution for your needs. Highly recommended.

I discovered a painting at the Peninsula Gallery that I wanted to purchase since we knew the artist’s work. I live in Ontario and expected there would be some kind of complication in doing business without actually coming to the Gallery. The transaction was flawless.
