In 1955, Clair Hanford Price founded a lumber company in Toronto called Hanford Lumber. Mr. Price's passion for the lumber industry was rooted in his upbringing in New Brunswick, where his large family played an active role in the lumber business. They opened a yard in Montreal and then expanded in Ontario where they established six other lumber yards in Toronto, Hamilton, Whitby, Scarborough, London and Oshawa.
The family also owned a logging mill in Haliburton, Ontario. A few years later, Mr. Price opened a lumber yard at 45 Bethridge Road in Toronto, which he called Hanford Lumber. Most notably, his company supplied timber and lumber for the construction of Toronto's very first subway system on Yonge street.

Mackenzie was super helpful in helping me purchase wood stock that I needed for my work to be done.He organized a guide for me to walk through his yard to help pick the species of Wood stock that I needed and gave me a super great price on wood that were cut offs and cull.
I will always go back to Hanford for my wood supply.

I thank you for the great customer experience you provided. Your attention to my queries, my requests, and my needs was outstanding! Even your yard lads were very helpful in loading the timbers into my van. It's not often that one experiences this level of care and service. I'll gladly recommend you guys to anyone that is looking for timber products.

Hanford Lumber will always be my go-to location for lumber as they always have what I need in stock, but more important than the lumber is that the staff are super knowledgeable about their products and always have answers to my questions. I like that I’m not “searching the isles” to get help; there’s always someone at the front desk who knows their products and can recommend which type of wood is best for my current projects.

Dropped by this place on a Monday afternoon after doing a google search for lumber yards that carry timbers (very larges piece of wood, bigger than 2" x 8" x 10').
The location very easy to find and the yard seems large (although I didn't go back into it)
When I walked in, I walked through the store (fairly small...but to be fair, it is a lumber yard) and then went to the counter. One of the guys that worked there (his name was Mike) came over and we spoke about the home renovation project that I had in mind (using a large piece of timber, cut into 4' pieces, strapped

I went into Hanford Lumber, the Thursday before the Labour Day Weekend. I asked for a piece of wood 4inch X 10 inch by 5 feet. They told me that they had an 8 foot piece that I could get cut to 5 feet. They asked me if I wanted it 'dressed'. I showed them a picture of a sophisticated fireplace that I was having built in my home (not cottage) so I wanted it to be finished. They showed me a rough piece of wood and then showed me the smooth sanded and stained material that had been 'dressed'. I paid $69.52 for the piece of wood and $85 to have it dressed. When I picked it up, they
