The driver of the water truck damaged the gate of a property we own, just before winter so the repair could not be done at that time. The owner of the company was resistant to paying for the repair, but finally said they would make the repair in mid-May, and they left us a cheque to cover the cost of the repair, if they did not show up to do the repair. The cheque they gave us was dated for May, so of course we felt there was no good-faith shown by them, but they absolutely refused to make good in any other way.
