Teeth grinding, also know as Bruxism, is excessive grinding of teeth or clenching of the jaw, or both. It's unrelated to normal mouth functions, like eating or speaking, and it can occur (and cause similar damage) while awake or asleep. Common symptoms include aching jaw muscles, hypersensitive teeth, and headaches.
Gum recession is typically caused by advanced gum disease - specifically, periodontitis. Gingivitis happens when the buildup of plaque on your teeth reaches the gums and begins to inflame and irritate them. If this is left untreated, the underlying bone usually resorbs and the gums will pull away from the teeth, making the teeth look longer and become looser, which may cause your teeth to fall out.
Periodontitis is a general term, referring to inflammation of the gums and damage to the supporting structures of the teeth. When left untreated, periodontitis can lead to a large number of other dental conditions including, loose teeth, bone loss, bleeding gums, bad breath, and can severely damage the supportive soft tissues in your mouth.

I finally found a dentist that knows what he’s doing! I have had globs of composite, that were discoloured from stains on my front teeth for 22 years, and I have been to MANY dentists to fix the issue, nothing was ever done, one dentist even argued with me that there was composite on them at all, even with an xray (I broke my front teeth when I was 8, and composite was applied over my entire teeth, front and back) and my boyfriend recommended Dr. Hill and it was the first dentist who noticed the globs without me even having to say it! He fixed my teeth for me and they finally feel like real teeth

I've always avoided going to the dentist because of the cost and the fear. Then one day I couldn't avoid the dentist anymore. I had a very bad gum infection and I needed help. What I found is a great staff who welcomed me without an appointment. I was seen by a great dentist (since we can't mention names I will say Dr. H ) and he is the first dentist to sit and talk with me and explain everything, including the price of things and my options prior to doing anything. I've gone back a few times since and yesterday I had a tooth pulled. It literally took him 5 minutes and it was all done. Afterwards

I love this office! I am a dental assistant and haven’t worked at sylvan lake dental for awhile now but I still take my family to get my dental care from here. The dentists are excellent and very thorough. From all the places I have worked at, their work is the best I have seen. The assistants are very personable and actually care about your concerns. The hygienists are amazing and patient getting my teeth cleaned while I have my kids all around me trying to see what’s going on. The front staff works with my schedule and helps with one of boys while it’s someone else’s turn in the chair

My family and I have been attending the Sylvan Lake Dental Centre for the past 6 years. The dentists are kind, pay attention to my families needs and offers assignment for our dental benefits, which is great for us. Dr. Hill has done my dental implants, updated my smile with Invisalign and the Hygienists are gentle with our oral care. My children enjoy Dr. Frantz's chair side manner and enjoys his professional attitude. I have been going to Dr. Hill for 14 years. I was sick as a child and never had great teeth. They have always made me feel so comfortable and special. I love my smile since Dr. Hill has been my dentist. My mother was 84 years old and would make the the stairway just to go and have her natural teeth done. She also had a crush on her dentist, she called him Dr Garth. I recommend this office to anyone and everyone. Thanks also for all they do to go to other countries and give free dental for those in need.
