The honest answer is maybe. Most noise complaints relate to the outdoor portion of the heat pump system and there are several factors which influence how noisy your new heat pump will be. One of the easiest ways to keep it quiet is to choose an appropriate location. Placing the outdoor unit away from bedrooms, near natural noise dampeners or behind a barrier can all help reduce the noise.
Geothermal loops can come in many configurations; the three most common are horizontal, vertical and ocean/pond loops. After the heat is extracted from the ground and transfered into your home via the geothermal unit it can be spread around your home in several different ways. The most common way of distributing the heat is with a forced air ducted system.
