Stopp's Cleaners is Milton's longest-running dry cleaning facility, operating now for 60 years. Profiled in Fabric Care Magazine, the store owner Petra Emerson, took over the store from her parents, German founders Alfred and Helga Stopp after they retired. Located in the heart of Milton, we offer a convenient front counter location where all work is done on-premises.
Most dry cleaners use perchloroethylene (or perc), as their primary cleaning solvent. Unfortunately, perc is a carcinogen and respiratory irritant. If you've ever brought home an article of dry cleaning or walked past a dry cleaner's, you know the distinct smell we're referring to. We promise that under our care, you garments will come out with the best possible results and that you'll get the longest life out of your items.
We utilize the top commercial equipment and detergents in the business to ensure your dress shirts come back looking fantastic. Our dedicated shirt pressing department uses a 4 stage pressing process, utilizing the best pressing machines from Japan. Shirt cuffs and collars are presoaked and scrubbed to remove hard stains.
Our on-site professional seamstresses/tailor ensures that all the repair work is done right, using quality replacement items. We perform all types of alterations at our location. We can resize your dress, suit, or other garments to be smaller or larger. We can raise, lower, or repair hems. We have an in-store changing room so come in and have our seamstress evaluate what adjustments to your garments might be necessary.
