Dry eye disease is a chronic condition that many people are living with. At Emerald Hills Eye Care, our doctors thoroughly assess your eyelids, the quality of your tears, oil glands, and cornea to determine if you are suffering from dry eye disease. Myopia occurs when you are able to see things up close quite clearly and objects in the distance are blurry and difficult to focus on. It can be caused by an eye that is too long or by a highly curved cornea or lens. It typically starts in early childhood and may progress until your mid-twenties. Your optometrist will check your vision and perform a refraction to determine the best prescription to correct your vision.

I finally found my Optometrist! After searching for years for someone that was actually knowledgeable about dry eye and had a genuine interest in it I’ve found him.
Dr. Akle is hands down the best eye doctor I’ve ever been to. As a young dry eye sufferer I’ve never felt truly heard, understood and helped like this. He goes out of his way to help out. I literally drive from out of town to see him.
I recommend the IPL for dry eye. Dr. Akle has the same machine my Opthalmologist (Dr. Al-Ghoul in Calgary) has. Dr. Akle’s treatment is even better as it targets the top lids with corneal shields

My family and I are VERY happy to have found Emerald Hills Eyecare! Dr Jon is extremely knowledgeable and informative. We are extremely happy with our eye exams, glasses and contact lenses purchased for our family. My own eye care needs are complex and Ive been very impressed with the care that I have received. Everyone at the clinic is very welcoming and kind. Highly highly recommend!! They definitely go above and beyond!!

Dr. Akle deserves every part of his 5 star rating. Just an overall wonderful human being. He is excellent with my small kids and both my wife and myself. My daughter was having some eyes issues during the early stages of the pandemic and Dr. Akle made a special trip to open his office JUST to see her - he has been our dedicated optometrist ever since.

Can't say enough good things about this place. Dr. Akle is obviously very determined to do the best he can for vision. I am in the process of trying to get multifocal contacts and he is going above and beyond to make sure I find the right pair for me. The office staff is super friendly and helpful every time. Highly recommend Dr. Akle and his team.

Very modern office with all the gadgets. The front staff was very accommodating and efficient. Dr. Akel was excellent but also very personable!! Their glasses selection was great. Something for everybody. Ended up picking a pair I would never have chosen myself, but absolutely fell in love with. They don't try to push you out the door and close the sale. Looking forward to bringing my entire family here :)

Dr. Akle and his team are the best. They are so welcoming and they make sure you're comfortable. Dr. Akle is knowledgable and he loves his job -- you can tell! Their collection of glasses is amazing, multiple time they've helped me find glasses that look great on me. My kids also love going there. I can't recommend them enough!
