On Sept. 1, optometrists across Ontario decided to stop offering OHIP-insured eye exams for seniors, children, other OHIP-covered patients. Optometrists feel ignored and left behind by three decades of successive Ontario governments. None of these provincial governments properly funded eye care. Today, optometrists in Ontario are paid $44.65 on average for each OHIP-insured exam.
You can see the frames virtually on your face by giving our site the ability to access your camera. For each frame you like, click the Heart icon on the top right to save it in your Favourites. Took my 1 year old and 3 year old to see Dr Zach Findlay today at Russell West Optometry. He was absolutely AMAZING with my kids. Very professional and great with keeping the kids engaged in the appointment. He made the experience a fun one for them both. My oldest was walking out of the office saying how much fun he had. I strongly recommend Dr Findlay to anyone but especially those with children. Thank you Dr Findlay, my little ones are so excited to go back and see you again.

I needed a new pair of prescription glasses for outdoor activities, including motorcycling. I was able to get an idea of the type of frames I wanted using RWO's virtual frame fitting, and then I had an appointment with Jodie who was able to completely and promptly help me home in on the frames and specific type of lenses I would need. She was very knowledgable and engaging, making my visit very pleasant. The glasses were prepared ahead of schedule and I was able to pick them up today, do final checks with Jodie and I am now using the glasses. I am very satisfied with the entire experience!

I really enjoyed my experience at Russell West. I arrived for my scheduled appointment and met with Leanne, an Optometric Assistant there. She assisted me with finding the perfect pair of Peepers ( blue light lenses)- I spend a lot of time at a computer and these glasses have helped me greatly with my daily functions. They are great quality and a great price point. I really appreciate that they have lots of options available in store. Leanne helped me find the most flattering colour and style. I highly recommend Russell West Optometry for anyone. They are kind, knowledgeable, easy to communicate with, and very fast. The clinic is very modern and spacious, which is very helpful for those who may have disabilities. They also have a wide range of frames, which makes acquiring a pair of glasses that much easier. If you live in Kawartha Lakes, there's no better place to go.

Russell West came highly recommended by a number of people. We were fortunate to have an appointment booked with Dr. Findlay who took fantastic care of my 6 year old daughter as she got her eyes tested. He involved her in the process, explained everything throughly, answered all of our questions without rushing us (so specifically asked my daughter if she had questions), and accommodated our needs. My daughter enjoyed going to the appointment and commented about how much she liked Dr. Findlay! Very happy to have found such a great doctor and office to work with.
