Bread N Batter
We are a family-run business where our story begins with a mother's grown passion from her youth. In pursuit of replicating her favourite childhood dessert, time came when she perfected the recipe to her favourite cake. This has now become the infamous secret recipe that inspired the cakes you will find around our family bakery.

Her daughter eventually joined the scene with her culinary background to put modern twists to Mom's traditionally loved recipes, and add a few flares of her own. Her husband and her other daughter have also joined in and are constantly working in the front, and behind the scenes.

Loves this little bakery. They went out of their way, spending 10 mins to draw a cat on the cake as I casually asked if they could in addition to writing the message on the cake. It was for our kittens foster mom. The desserts are amazing as well with some unique flavours!

Bought an ube cake from them for my dad's birthday this weekend. It was delicious. Probably the best I've had in this side of the GTA. Great texture and full of flavor. Very friendly staff too. Will definitely be back!

Family owned and loved.
I always enjoy my visits to this lovely bakery, especially the warm greetings I get. I always come planning to buy one item then leaving with triple to what I originally needed.
The cakes are moist and the cream isn’t too sweet. I can literally eat their cakes for days.
Their pandasal, I can eat on its own.
Every time I think I won’t buy the hot dog buns, I end up leaving with a pack or two.
If you need help, they are always willing to give opinions!
If you’re in the area or passing by Milton, definitely stop by for a snack and you won’t regret it!

Pass up on the Empanadas'; mostly bread, little meat and not that great plus over-priced.

Unfortunately; that does leave a less undesirable 'taste' thus pushing them down the queue of choices. The review was anonymous in our house-hold, 3 for 3.

Suggested they drop the product in order to retain customers and focus on their core product strengths.

Or simply ignore our honest review.

The aroma of pastries from the kitchen made me hungry. The bread and cakes look delicious. The variety is enough to choose from. Bought "ube macapuno" icing cake for a friend's son's birthday. Taste good but I like the empanadas better. The breads/pastries in transparent boxes should be displayed / stacked in a separate table so customers can see it well.
The interior has a coffee/shop feel. The decors look cute. I like the bread basket stand but the item has no label . The staff was pleasant and friendly. The shop practices social distancing and allowed only 4 people at a time.

Very friendly staff who are accommodating. Delicious cupcakes that taste fresh- very fluffy and flavourful, with filling inside. The cream on top is very light and not overly sweet. Wide array of flavors to choose from. The store is very organized and neat.

A close friend had bought us a set of cupcakes with two flavours. Both were taro flavoured but one had coconut shavings on top of the frosting. They were both delicious. What was nice was that it wasn't overly sweet. The creaminess was just right.

We picked up cupcakes for my daughters birthday this afternoon. They were incredible! So soft and flavourful. The mocha cupcakes might be my new addiction, they’re like a delicate tiramisu. 🤩

My husband and I bought ensaymada, sans rival and empanada. They were delicious! The sans rival had the right amount of sweetness and had lots of cashews..it reminded me of yema, very creamy. The ensaymada was so soft and the sweetness was just right. The people behind the counter were really nice, which was a plus.👍👍. Will definitely be back again.

Lovely local bakeshop selling great pastries. The smell once you enter is divine!
We bought empanada (both chicken and pork), original ensaymada, and sans rival.
The sans rival is the best I've had so far here in Canada. So much cashews! I liked it so much I may have to make the trip from Brampton again just to get it 😊
The ensaymada is nice and soft with just the right salty-sweetness.
The empanadas have a good balance between the flavour of the filling and the crust (I particularly liked the crust).
The folks behind the counter are awfully nice to boot!
Very much recommended if you're

I made a custom order Mamon Cake with sugar and cheese as a topping and its fantastic! It was a big hit in the family celebration. Out of the 4 birthday cakes, mine only had 1 slice left at the end! Thank you… for making my cake in such short notice, for the first time and for the great taste! It wasn’t too sweet and having the cheese and sugar filling in the middle was great. One minor improvement would be to make the Chiffon cake part more soft , fine and moist. Definitely recommend and will come back again soon!

I love supporting non franchise restaurants obviously if they are good and boy this place is good.

So far I have tried their cupcake and chicken empanadas and both were mind blowing. The cupcake definitely tasted like a gourmet cake shops goodie..it was moist and flavorful with lot of depth to its taste unlike the ones you get at a grocery store.

The empanada was what blew my palettes away.Crusty and rich on the outside and moist flavorful and almost like a chicken pot pie from within. But mind you Filipinos like their crust a tad bit sweet so these have a sweet and salty touch to them. Its quite

As opposed to Panera, as soon as you enter this place, you KNOW what Bread 'N Batter is all about...baking, breads, cakes, Filipino specialties.

It's located just off Main Street, in Milton, but outside the downtown strip in a commercial building. It's easier to enter the building if you're going headed West on Main Street.

I ordered 3 items: Chicken Empanada, Ube Cupcake, & Cinnaymada. The empanada & cinnaymada had to be prepared from the back kitchen as there weren't any in the front. It took a bit, but I was ok with that.

Out of the 3 items, the Ube Cupcake

My friend and I enjoy ube cupcakes. If you dont know what to try first, go with the Ube cupcakes (taro ones). It is completely different than other regular cupcakes. We like it because it is not too sweet, the sponge is moist and flavourful (not feel like artificial flavour and color).
The reason why i dont give 5 stars is because lately we can see a change of taste (recipe) comparing to what we had in the past:
-frosting: a bit sweeter
-cakes: a bit drier (it was moist and soft, like the feeling when you have cheesecake from uncle tetsu, i hope it makes sense to you)
Still recommend anyways

Warm staff, great goods.

The traditional coconut filled Spanish bread and the adventurous cinnaymada still carry the Filipino taste sentiment of the balance of sweet and salty. Pick one of these up for a warm treat at the bakery on the way home from work.

The chefs at BnB have developed the chocolate crinkles so well. With a flaky-ish outside and a soft and dense middle, it is a chocolate brownie-like cookie that will make any chocolate lover melt.

Definitely a place worth stopping by Milton for!

I keep forgetting to post a review of this cute bakery! A couple months ago in the winter, I discovered this place hidden in a small strip of stores at Main Street and Thompson in Milton. I tried their ube cupcake, which was heavenly and their Mocha ensymada (sponge cake), which was also sweet but not overwhelmingly sweet. I remember it coming out to about $6 or $7 for the two items, which isn't bad at all. This is the only place that I know that sells Filipino treats in Milton, so I was impressed with the quantity and quality of the food considering it was close to closing when I went. I

We drove all the way to Milton to buy some more the freshly baked ensaymada. Then discovered their sinfully delicious cinnaymada! The Spanish bread, Mamon and Mocha Mamon are really good too. The Pan de Coco dough was delish but found the coco a bit on the salty side. The pork empanadas are fresh and goes great with a cold drink. Next time, we'll have to try their Ube Cupcakes! This bakery is worth the drive!
