Over 17 years of practice as a registered massage therapist has taught me that our bodies hold more of the answers to our healing than we may think. If we take the time to listen to the body as a whole, it will often show us exactly what it needs. My treatment style has become a well integrated blend of myofascial and craniosacral assessments and techniques that often include some form of visualization, breathing or body awareness exercise.

Becoming aware of and attuned to our bodies is an important step to opening communication with the tissues and providing the opportunity for growth and change. I am passionate about helping people achieve and even exceed their personal health goals. Whether that's through working with me alone or by collaborating with complementary professionals in the community.

This allows for time to review your health history and goals, perform any assessments, formulate a treatment plan and provide you with homecare. If you are looking for care for a specific issue, I recommend booking at least 1 or 2 follow-up visits within 2-3 weeks of your initial appointment. This will vary depending on your goals, the severity of the issues and your baby's response to treatment.
I (Krista Eisner) will remain the Health Information Custodian for all Kent Massage Therapy & Wellness Centre files. According to the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO), I am required by law to retain the files for 10 years past the date of the client's last visit to the clinic (or 10 years past the 18th birthday of a child).
RMTs are trained in a variety of manual techniques that can be used to evaluate and manipulate the soft tissues of the body (muscles, tendons, connective tissues, ligaments and joints) in order to optimize function, mobility and overall health of an individual. These techniques can be applied at different speeds, pressures and frequencies in order to achieve the goals set out by a therapist and their client.
Prenatal massage is focused on relaxation and the physical changes associated with pregnancy and birthing. Pregnancy is a wonderful time to make subtle changes in a mother's body because of the hormone relaxin that is present. This hormone helps to loosen ligaments and joints to accommodate the growing baby and prepare the pelvis for birth.
Birth and early life, while beautiful and amazing, sometimes come with complications. Babies today are frequently being diagnosed with latching and feeding issues, tongue ties, colic, acid reflux, plagiocephaly (flat-head), torticollis (wry-neck) and craniosynostosis, among others. Many of these conditions are functional impairments that play into each other, and can often be resolved by improving the mobility of the structures at issue.
