Today I tried koala tan for the first time. I usually go to Fabutan today but it was closed today for Easter. I saw koala tan on Yelp and thought I'd give it a try.
Here's how it works:
There is like 6 levels of beds. The higher you go, the more expensive, but the stronger and less time you need. If you buy a level 5, you can use any bed up to and including 5.
I went for level 5 stand up as I tan frequently (3 to 4 times a week). It was around 30$ for 7 consecutive days. Or 109$ monthly. Pretty pricey compared to my 34.99 Fabutan monthly membership.
I loved the beds though. It&apos

I went to koala tan today and I haven't been tanning in a while so I was pretty pale. The service was great, the lady was very friendly and knowledgeable. I just went once and I already see a tan. I've been to other salons and it usually takes me 3 tans before I start to notice the difference. They seem a bit pricey but definitely worth it. Salon was very clean. This is going to be my go to place when I want to go tanning. I can tell I will be very dark in about 3 sessions.

Although this was one of the nicer looking salons I have seen ( in Etobicoke anyway) and the service was impeccable; the owner was very generous and the customer service was ALWAYS good I had a rather a negative result from using their beds.
It was on the pricier side but I didn't mind as I felt the ambience alone made up for it but after frequenting this salon I noticed I developed a skin condition from using the beds, which was unfortunate because I really did enjoy the salon. After i stopped going to the salon the condition quickly went away, the dr's I went to said it can happen

The beds are mediocre compared to a lot of other bed selections that other tanning salons offer out there. the staff is pretty mediocre, some more friendly than others. one woman staff member in particular needs to relax a little - i showed up a little late to an appt before and she gave me a whole speech about it and made me feel belittled. seriously, when working in customer service, you need to be aware of how you are coming across a little more :) just a word of advice!
other than THAT little incident, over all a satisfactory tanning salon, with decent packages for the budget-conscious consumer
