Engineered Hardwood is an easy way to improve the look, durability and value of your home. Engineered hardwood flooring is a product made up of a core of hardwood, plywood or HDF and a top layer of hardwood veneer that is glued on the top surface of the core and is available in almost any hardwood species.
Laminate flooring (also called floating wood flooring) is a multi-layer synthetic flooring product fused together with a lamination process. I had really stressful and regrettable experience with this business replacing carpet with hardwood in my two rooms and opened-to-below hallway. Things went wrong from the very beginning when they delivered low quality wood for the price of a premium hardwood, hiding the real grade name with their own made-up name. The wood did not match the sample we had chosen in the store: different brand, different colors, low quality. I should have opted out right there, but somehow I found myself persuaded to exchange the wood. Then an installer came in. Turned out he did not know what he was going to do
