My name is Sensei Ron Curran, head of Curran's Karate. I've been involved in Martial Arts since I was ten years old and started teaching as an assistant instructor when I was thirteen. I am on an unstoppable mission to help the children of our community achieve academic success, gain confidence, increase their self-esteem, avoid peer pressure, stay fit, and live a healthy lifestyle.

We all want our kids to change the world and make an impact on future generations. Through a focus on aiming and achieving goals, we teach kids to shoot for the stars and incrementally chase goals step-by-step. All while instilling values such as love, empathy, respect, humility, and discipline. By learning the value of respect and humility, kids learn to listen attentively to their elders.
Enhance your little one's mental and physical capabilities with a fun, rewarding program. We'll help sharpen motor function, increase flexibility, and keep your toddler active with our Junior Martial Arts Program! Is still getting to know the world around them and is learning how to interact with their surroundings.
It can be extremely frustrating to bend over backwards to accommodate your entire family. When you factor in age differences, social lives, busy schedules, and conflicting interests choosing and activity everyone can agree on can seem impossible. With Family Martial Arts Classes, your days of dropping the kids off at After School programs are officially over!
Although any sport or activity has some risk involved, our team of certified instructors follow safety protocols to ensure a safe and supportive environment for our students. In fact, unlike sports which has one adult supervising an entire team, we have multiple instructors monitoring a room at all times making sure everything runs smoothly.

In only 2 months we have seen tremendous growth in our children from their experience at Curran’s. Ron uses a “whole person” approach... mind, heart, body- not just kicks and punches... and it leaves a lasting effect on me and my family. We make quite a drive to attend (20+ minutes) but it’s WORTH IT! Ron and his team have gone out of their way to make this a wonderful experience for me and my kids (even when they were hesitant to begin/join) and their belt rank-ups prove it! Can’t sing enough praise 👏👏👏

Sensei Ron knows exactly how to treat and interact with each student. He intuitively knows which teaching style each kid needs, whether it is the discipline approach or the encouragement approach! Our child has learned to be more confident and has enjoyed the training very much! Thank you, Sensei Ron! I would (and do wherever I can) highly recommend his classes!

My daughter has been taking Karate with Sensei Ron for 6 years. In no small part to him and his dojo, she is strong, confident. He is tough but always has the best interests of his learners in mind and heart. If you want confident kids with critical thinking skills, send them to Sensei Ron to reinforce that.

From the first class to 1.5yrs later I knew Sensei Ron would be a great influence for my son. The kids really look up to him and my son couldn’t be more excited about karate. Through Covid shutdowns Sensei went above and beyond to keep the kids engaged and training, it was truly impressive. I highly recommend Curran Karate!

Our children have been attending Curran's Karate for many years and I just recently started. Sensei Ron has been a revelation for our family. His programs have encouraged our children to improve their focus, discipline, balance, confidence and fitness as well as helped provide a strong sense of fairness and community. I can't speak highly enough of Sensei's commitment to improvement for himself as well as his students and regularly recommend his dojo to close friends and family.

We've had a great experience here! Sensei Ron has adapted his program to fit the needs of my son, and I've enrolled my second son now, too. He has a special, unique demeanor about him that gets the kids to listen respectfully to him, but also adores him, and they strive to do their best to follow the program. Its definitely impressive!

This dojo is the BEST! My son started three months ago and looks forward to his classes every week. Sensei Ron is organized, strict but sensitive to each kid’s emotions. His assistants are attentive as well (goes to show the training they’ve received from the dojo). There are monthly key words the kids learn and discuss during class so it’s a good blend of life lessons and technical skills.
