We have certified nutrition coaches that can help you work toward your nutrition goals with a personalized plan designed specifically for you. Kate's relationship with food wasn't always healthy. In the beginning of her weight loss journey, she found herself stuck in a cycle of restrictive diets, binge eating, and guilt.
Active Rehab is a program designed to recover physical function after a traumatic injury such as a motor vehicle accident, sports injury, or work-related accident. This program is run by a registered kinesiologist and can be a direct referral from ICBC, WorkSafe BC, lawyers or therapists. An Active Rehab program involves a detailed assessment where our kinesiologist will do an analysis of your injury, work/life demands, pain assessment etc.

Feleen is my personal trainer and Kate is my nutrition coach. I love them both to bits. They've helped me so much!

Prior to working with Feleen and Kate, I hit a plateau on my fitness journey and was trending downwards. I got complacent when it comes my training and I ate whatever. Feleen developed a training routine that is flexible and complimentary to what I was already doing. My performance for both strength and cardio massively improved. I can now lift heavier (squats, deads, press). I can play tennis sets back to back for 3 hours with more explosiveness and tenacity without

A great gym where all of the staff a very friendly and create a fun and non-judgmental environment to improve your fitness and wellbeing. After just a few weeks I can see and feel the difference in my body. Kate listens and adjusts the workouts as necessary to push me but not break me. I always feel energized after a workout and look forward to the new challenges set each time I come in. I would definitely recommend trying this place out for anyone, both beginners and advanced alike.

Since coming to GWA in May, I’ve noticed significant gains in my fitness and body shape. All of the trainers are professional, knowledgeable and really take the time to make sure your form is accurate. They listen to your goals and help you achieve them without being pushy. I always look forward to coming to train whether it’s for a 1:1 with Ale or the group classes.

I haven't gone to a gym in 12 years and was worried about being pushed too hard or feeling out of place as has happened in previous attempts. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming which makes it very easy to go.
Kate is great at planning a work out that pushes me without killing me. This is the first time I've ever looked forward to going to the gym.

I've been training with Clay at Groundworks for almost a year now and I can honestly say I feel the strongest and most comfortable in my body now than I've ever felt in my life. Clay keeps me accountable and continues to push my levels of strength & endurance, while meticulously checking form to prevent any injuries (no matter how many times I've done the same exercise before). Every session is different so I always feel challenged and never bored like I normally would at another gym. Really clean and well equipped facility with an exceptional staff. I've been to many group classes and personal training before and their trainers really pay attention to everyone making sure they get the most out of their workout. They give you tips for improvement that carry on outside the gym. Once you start coming here you end up becoming a part of their community as a bonus.

I've been going to Groundwork Athletics for 6 years now! It feels like family to me now:)
They have fantastic and loyal trainers who truly care about their clients and their goals whether it's fitness or personal. I've really enjoyed the atmosphere and how it is all group training and personal training. Best is the variety of group classes offered throughout the week. All the trainers are top notch and educated!
Also, the location is very, very convenient!
