Tea and Cake is a quaint, classic tearoom in Almonte, Ontario, run by Gwendolyn Neelin, a barista-turned-baker with a passion for food, tea, and British tradition. We are currently offering take-out lunches and freshly-baked treats, tea, coffee and specialty hot beverages, in addition to a selection of take home dinners from our freezer, a shelf of retail food items including house made jams and preserves, and custom cakes for your special events.

We are open for walk-in orders from Wednesday through Monday 10am-3pm, or you can place advance orders through our 'Shop' page, or by calling the shop at 613-256-4830.You can also call this number to arrange a contactless curbside pickup. We provide custom catering services for your special event, either at our unique, charming venue - a heritage restaurant in a beautiful mill town, or at your own location. Gwendolyn, Tea & Cake's owner, baker and resident cake designer loves to work one on one with clients to create the perfect cake for their occasion. She works with a wide range of flavours and styles, and wants each couple's individual personality to come through in their cake. We ordered a custom tea for ourselves and our friends, some keto/ vegan and gluten-free, Gwen did an amazing job, the food was absolutely delicious, so well put together, we sat by the lake and had a very memorable afternoon with our friends. I would highly recommend her services.

Stopped by this little cute spot on my family day trip outings. Ordered some
Smarties cookies - pretty moist and tender
Chocolate chip cake pops - very delish
Butter tart - nice and golden and flaky
Vanilla cake slice - pretty good but the icing was to sweet for me.
& a rosemary cheddar scone - very delish aswell.

Thank you Gwen for making such a wonderful cake for my daughter’s 10th birthday. The cake was seriously amazing! I’ve never tasted a fresher cake! The sponge, the buttercream, everything was incredible! And it was beautifully decorated 💕🍰 The Portuguese custard tarts are to die for 🥮!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ron and I really enjoyed your Friday night dinner of ribs, squash, cream corn and carrot cake. It was so delicious. The ribs were tender and the veggies quite tasty. Not to mention your luscious carrot cake. We had lots of leftovers. Well done Gwen. 👍🏻

Went with my sisters for a birthday lunch yesterday. The owner and her staff were lovely, and high tea we had was delicious. Also loved our individual teapots and the selection of teas she had. Definitely planning on going again.

First time at Tea and Cake and just stumbled upon it. Fantastic food and the staff were wonderful with lots of suggestions. I did not have a full tea but next time I surely will. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was that scones should not be microwaved in order for them to be hot. They were tasty all the same and it just may be a personal preference. I would rather have it cold then microwaved although the strawberry preserves were excellent and my friend had lemon curd which was perfect as well. Would I go back? You bet you and can't wait and I highly recommend this place when you are

I am visiting my friend in Dunrobin this week when we happened upon Tea and Cake while antiquing in Almonte. It was the most delightful experience ever! The scones were outstanding, sandwiches were divine and lovely desserts. Devonshire cream and lemon curd (need I say more?) were so good! We went to the Château Laurier the following day for Afternoon Tea and between the two places, Tea and Cake is the place I definitely prefer. I’m so sad that I will not be able to attend the “Austen-Tacitus” event in August!

Tea and Cake (Almonte) catered my sister Barb's Anniversary Party this past week. The event was so special and the food and deserts were great. Loved and tasted almost everything but especially loved the turkey and cranberry sandwiches and the open tarts ... yummy!

Went for high tea and it was fabulous! From the savory finger sandwiches, to scones, cheesecake cake and cookies every bite was so tasty! The lemon curd spread was to die for!! The individual tea pots and unique cups were so cute. It was busy but the staff were fast, friendly and efficient. Definitely recommend checking it out.

Had a really great high tea here!
Every course was delicious, and was clearly prepared in-house. The sandwiches and scones were impeccable.
Service was courteous and friendly, and really made the day trip to Almonte more special. Definitely a wonderful little place to check out.

Yesterday, for just a moment, my wife and I stepped off the sidewalk of this idillic little Canadian town and into a tiny corner of heaven.

On the recommendation of a young girl that we encountered en route to Almonte we decided to try this place with "great pies". It was so much more than that. Charming, quaint and friendly are words that come to mind. The owner and staff were funny and warm and their offerings were world class!

We enjoyed fresh, handmade quiche, soup, salads and pie & cake that were to die for. My wife had the decadent butterscotch pie with 20 inches of merengue
