After seeing all these wonderful reviews we thought we would try Sunmed for our vacation to Croatia. And we did enjoy our time there. However when we encountered problems with some arrangements they had made for us "this company" was not able to help us. We have just returned from a month in the Algarve and had the most amazing time.
Well organized from our arrival in Lisbon, picking up the car to the beautiful accommodations at the Algar Village in Albufeira. Excellent restaurant on site with exceptional staff. We would recommend using Sunmed and will plan our next vacation with them.

It's a year ago today that we booked a 20 day vacation to Portugal starting on March 21st with another couple. The trip included 10 days in Albufera, two days in Porto and an 8 day cruise down the Duoro River. Little did we know that Covid 19 would be shutting down Portugal and much of Europe but that was clear a few days before we were scheduled to depart for our trip so in the interest of safety, we called Sunmed and told them we were not willing to jeopardize our health and were forced to cancel our trip. Shocking customer aftercare...an organization which took no responsibility for booking totally inappropriate accommodation for our final week (out of four touring other parts of Portugal) in the Algarve. We ended up re-locating to another part of the Algarve at our own expense for 5 days as could not stay where we had been booked into. Henry and his staff know Portugal. In particular the Algarve. After ten visits using SunMed for nine, we rely on them to provide us with terrific service, both here in Mississauga and in the Algarve. Their agent in the Albufeira area, Telma is great. She goes out of her way to ensure our every need is met. We have spoken to the hotel and… apartment staff in the Algarve and all say the same. Use another agency at your peril. We have sent many satisfied friends to speak with Henry or one of his staff and all are extremely pleased. We will continue to use them as long as we are able! keep up

Henry and his staff at SunMed truly are a pleasure to work with. They know everything about the regions they advertise, they go that extra mile to get you the best deal and they care about their customers.I found Henry's seminars on Wednesdays in Mississauga a great way to prepare and learn about a destination. Henry did a masterful job of preparing a 2 week package for my wife and I and 2 friends to visit Portugal next Februaury. We can't wait.

We booked our Portugal trip thru Sunmed Holidays this past May. For the most part, arrangements were (by Maria) as we expected and we had a lovely vacation
However our last three days in Portugal ended in Porto and unfortunately this is where Sunmed failed us.
For three days, with two suitcases and at the end of our 18 day holiday , the room that had been booked by Sunmed for us was the size of a walk in closet with a small makeshift bathroom . Our trip to Portugal was amazing thanks to our travel agent Rafael, and the service provided by local staff Telma. We sincerely enjoyed our visit to the Algarve and 1 night in Lisbon. We toured the old towns, all the cafes and shops, loved the beaches and explored the villages. We loved our accommodations and the use of the car was perfect. Everything was as it was described to us. Portugal is a beautiful country to visit. Our expectations of the entire trip were exceeded due to the first class service provided by Sunmed Holidays

I had done some research on Portugal and found Sunmed Holidays on the internet. Rafael was our country specialist and after several e-mail and phone conversations he designed an itinerary just for us. Rafael went to great lengths to understand our travel style, our interests, and our desired destinations in Portugal. It was a tremendous benefit to us that our travel agent has actually been to the places we wanted to go, experienced many of the activities we were interested in and stayed in the accommodations suggested for us. We would recommend traveling with Sunmed Holidays with no hesitation

My wife and I first booked travel to Portugal with Sunmed Holidays in 2002. Our initial experience with the firm was with Henry Lopes and over that years most of our dealings have been with Henry's son Rafael. We have referred a number of friends and relatives to Sunmed and we have never regretted doing so.

First of all, I must say that my trip to Portugal was fantastic. There was one glitch that happened and Sunmed did not go to bat for me. When booking, the agent, Maria, asked my wife if the car rental should be standard or automatic. I can not drive standard, so there was no option. Maria said it would be $300. I was ok with that, there was no other choice. She sent us all the vouchers, when received, the car voucher simply stated 'group Y.' I had no idea what that meant, but also, blindly figured that all was fine. We paid the package price and thought all was in order. At Hertz

We have booked twice with Sunmed and are currently looking forward to our third trip to Portugal in spring 2018 to celebrate my birthday and our 50th wedding anniversary. The accommodation offered in Albufeira is first class and dealing with an agency very familiar with Portugal is a definite plus. Would not hesitate to recommend them.

I'm sorry to say that there is a gentleman, and I use that in the loosest form, driving a black Nissan SUV (AMAS 371) that showcased vile behaviour today at this location.
This man first warned us that this is an authorized parking lot and that our vehicle would be towed if parked there. This of course is understandable and frustrating as that may be, seeing as I live in a condo on Viking Lane and simply needed to cross the road to get something, my partner proceeded to move the car while I made my way across. However this man did not let it go there but proceeded to create a V-sign upon
