I made an appointment to get two rings appraised. When I arrived I got a very stand off-ish greeting. I barely got one ring off my finger before the gentleman said "that's synthetic right?" I was very surprised because it was a diamond but I wasn't sure if it was natural or lab grown. He examined both with a magnifier with his colleague whispering "super synthetic". He told me both were synthetic and I was so shocked, surprised and embarrassed. I apologized for wasting their time and left. Later on I researched and found out you can't tell lab grown from natural without a machine, so I assumed

I first stepped foot in FFJ over 20 years ago. My experience then was just as amazing as it was yesterday. Michael is a true professional and always makes people feel very welcome in his “home”. His son Zachery has the same incredible attention to detail and customer service as his father. FFJ custom crafted an engagement ring and pendant for my wife 17 years ago and yesterday they took my amateur attempt at designing additional diamonds to the pendant and crafted an absolutely beautiful creation. My mother's gold jewelry with diamonds and rubies was collecting dust in a drawer. I wear stainless steel earrings, both ears, with small glass chips embedded. I asked Zac if the glass chips could be replaced by the diamonds. Zac explained that the metal has to be cast for the stones. Zac designed a matched set of platinum earrings with one centre large diamond and two smaller diamonds positioned above and below the larger diamond. The earrings sparkle, i sparkle. I am very pleased with the quality of design and workmanship by Zac and Fortunes Fine Jewelry.

Zachary and Michael both provided excellent service! When I initially emailed Fortunes to have my antique gold ring repaired (a seed pearl had popped off) and resized, Zachary was quick and quite detailed in his response. He inspected the ring when I brought it in, sized my finger and advised on the repair The ring was re-sized and the pearl was reset at a reasonable price, so I am very pleased!

I was looking to find a jeweller who could custom make a very special necklace for me. After asking around several people pointed me towards Fortune Fine Jewellers so I went to meet to have a consultation, and it was better than I could have anticipated. I’m beyond satisfied with the engagement ring, wedding band and necklace that Zac designed and made. I originally contacted him with the intention of using some old jewelry that I wasn’t using to create some new pieces. What I love about fortunes is they can either do something very customized for important life events or sell you something very casual for birthday presents. I had my late grandmothers ring modernized to propose to my wife. Zac and Michael were very thoughtful about how they redesigned it to maintain the original character of the ring but changed it in a way that's modernized and suitable to my wife's style and tastes.
