Ed grew up on a dairy farm and graduated from dentistry at McGill University in 1973. He worked in London, Ontario for 1 1/2 years before opening his own practice in Tillsonburg. At your first visit, we will sit down with you to take down a complete medical and dental history. The doctor will then come in and chat with you prior to beginning his thorough dental examination. This includes taking some necessary films, charting past dental treatment, current dental needs, doing a periodontal examination, and performing a cancer check.
For both functional and aesthetic reasons, it is wise to place a complete denture when all teeth are lost in an arch. The framework of a complete denture, called the base, is usually made of a pink acrylic plastic. The denture covers the palate and/or the bony ridge, which once contained the roots of your teeth.
Most people do not realize how common periodontal disease (also known as gum disease) is. Three out of every four adults have some form of the disease. In its early reversible stage, called gingivitis, gums can become red, swollen and bleed easily. When the disease progresses to the bone, which supports the teeth, it is called periodontitis.
It would seem that there is little consistency in the style and form of recommended toothbrushes. Many dentists recommend a rectangular-shaped soft mylon brush with curves and tufts. Others prefer a harder brush that softens after use. The advantage of a soft brush is that it can be used against the gums and teeth with less risk of abrasion.

I've experienced poor work a few times here.
Our daughter had a filling fall out once after 4 or 5 months and one just after a year. They have also filled the same tooth on 4 different occasions and failed to stop the cavity that continued under the filling.
On one visit, they took an extra set of x-rays a month after the previous set. They weren't covered by our insurance. When we questioned about it, they told us it was our job to know our coverages and when we were eligible for x-rays. I've never had this issue at another office.
They also have very limited appointment times after 4pm. I

Had an excellent visit with Rachel, this was the first time that she had cleaned my teeth and honestly she will be my go to girl. She was super talkative and super friendly and answered all my questions with no hesitation or judgement. Also just have to say that since the place was renovated it looks absolutely amazing and way more welcoming!
