The Varsity Hockey School also runs programs out of the ScotiaBank Pond that are coordinated and delivered by Head Instructor, Brad Bonello. All programs are run out of the Scotiabank Pond location, located on the Downsview Park grounds at 57 Carl Hall Rd. Brad is the Head Instructor at the Varsity Scotiabank location and directs the program coordination and development of young player's skill training.
Skating has become such an important part to hockey in the past 10 years. What better way to focus on the breakdown of skating than spending some quality time on your stride. The Skating Treadmill will work on your stride mechanics to become a more efficient skater, on your quickness to win those races to the puck, on your power to work on that separation speed and endurance to remain at your peak performance longer throughout the game.
The High Performer Program is a recognized Academic/Athletic specialized program that is offered through the Toronto District and Peel Region school boards with a compressed school curriculum.

This specialized program accommodates the Student/Athlete to complete their education within a consolidated school schedule and provides the daily flexibility to incorporate the required training into a demanding sports schedule to achieve their athletic goals.

Amazing coaches and training. My son and I have been skating with Danko for the better part of 2020, and he has made a tremendous difference in our skating, knowledge, and the overall skill set in both of us.
A Huge difference!!!!
Danko always knows exactly what we need and how to bring out the best in us in every session. His knowledge and understanding as a coach and trainer are exemplary. My son is 19 and I’m 50 yet he knows exactly how to drill us so we both can push ourselves and excel.
It’s also worth noting that Isaiah is also an excellent trainer. My son and I have enjoyed the sessions

Great place to sharpen your hockey skills. They are very accommodating when you can not make a class and allow you to make it up. My son has been going there for years. Great 3 on 3 summer hockey as well. All the instructors are great! Thanks Danko for everything over the years. Thanks Samantha as well for the great instruction over the last couple of weeks.

Decent ice, great for hockey team practices. Change rooms are very small, but no sub ceiling so they don't stink. The place needs to be cleaned up, there were a random stack of tires next to the ice door, etc. People were welding while we were training and the place wreeked of an electrical fire. Very small rinks, no good for games.

Good place to get some last-minute practice ice. They come stocked with all sorts of coaching gear (pucks, pylons, stick handling trainers, etc.).
I wish the booking system was more automated/on-line vs. scheduling it via email and using email money transfers.

My 10 year old son just started hockey this year. Due to his age and skill level we were afraid he would be too far behind kids that have been playing for much longer and not like it. We currently have him enrolled in a preseason evening camp and it's fantastic! Class sizes are small allowing each player to get ample feedback and guidance in improving their game. I personally like the 'no nonsense' attitude displayed by the coaches. It's clear they are here to help my son be a better hockey player and not just babysit him on the ice.
