This was supposed to be the Nashville chick'n burger, arrived extremely burnt and inedible. When we called the service was really great, they refunded the burger, gave us a free cupcake and made a new one. Unfortunately this one was also quite burnt but at least edible this time. The onion rings were great and my partner's burger was okay but quite dry.

This is one of the most ingenious companies I have ever come across!!! Their food is delicious and I will continue to order from them in the future. I tried their stuffed beast and honestly it has been one of the best vegan foods I have ever had! I was raised a vegetarian and now due to a rare autoimmune disease I have had to go vegan and I was concerned about some of the texture problems I had heard was often associated with vegan food. I am not concerned anymore!! I will continue to buy their products in the future and recommend them to other people as well!!

1st timer when it comes to the stuff beast. I just couldn't allow myself to try something to eat for $40! Thankfully I got some extra $$ before Christmas and decided to give it a shot. OH - MY - GOODNESS !! What deliciousness!! There were 4 of us for Christmas dinner, and we all LOVED that BEAST!!. I'm now walking to the very good butcher's to buy a couple more. It is not only tasty but very filling 😋. Well worth the $40! Thank you so much very good butcher's!!

The product is pretty good! The customer service is amazing!! I think the biggest disconnect lies in the warehouse with packing/shipping. The first time my items arrived completely thawed and after waiting was disappointed BUT they were very quick to go above and beyond fixing it and got my replacement order to me quickly. The replacement order arrived frozen and in tact... that being said... some of my order was wrong. Will most likely give another chance.

Absolutely delicious! The patties are tasty and super moist, very good consistency - not hard or dry, nor chewy, just perfect. The best flavor is probably the "smokin" - pair it with "bacon" and you're golden. Crispy fries were a great combination. Staff is super friendly and the environment is cozy, not pretentious at all. Great variety of different patties, sausages and pickles. Honest prices. I'm not even vegan, but I can confidently say it was one of the best burgers I had - ever! Full disclosure, I'm not vegan/vegetarian so I'm judging as an omnivore. Came here recently with my family and was really impressed with their new restaurant. Very clean space, friendly staff, and good service. Parking nearby was surprisingly easy for a downtown restaurant. For vegan food, it was solid! The burger was good though possibly could have used some more sauce. Mac and cheese was a bit too different from what our child was used to, but pretty good for adults. The food you can take home looks great and I look forward to trying more. If you're vegan/vegetarian, the food is probably amazing

Simply delicious Thanksgiving dinner. Seasoned and browned the Stuffed Beast briefly in butter in a skillet, then roasted according to directions in seasoned butter broth. Served with my usual veggie accompaniments and mushroom gravy. The flavor and texture of the beast was great, and the stuffing is total yum, both savory and slightly sweet. I had the butter chicken sandwich and it was flavourful, tasty, and filling. I was incredibly impressed with their new butcher’s select flippin’ good burgers, bratwursts, and breakfast sausages! They’re very realistic, taste really good, cook well, full of nutrients, and really filling! I will be purchasing them over the beyond and impossible meat from now on. I love the location of the place, great for parking. I also appreciate the slightly later hours, it makes it easier to go after work! The staff are so delightful too!

A great new location with a beautiful modern interior! The menu is a bit different with some more additions and of course, dinner! Staff are awesome as always, food is even better, and the display of all the products is beautiful! Save da Sea salmon, Butcher’s Select line, some baked goods, cheeses, cream cheeses, cheezecake, etc.
No Butcher’s Select products offered in the menu yet, but maybe that will be added soon. Would for sure be heaven for the gluten free scene!

Great vegan “meats” sold as pre packaged or made in sandwiches/wraps or whatever you order! You can get vegan smoked salmon as well, some vegan cheese spreads, some shirts and hats as well. Lots of seating around if you want to “dine in” or you can do takeout. Philly cheesesteak was sold out when I went.

Hello everyone! I do not know if we are allowed to Yelp businesses that are outside the USA but this company is and I think that need to be highlighted because of their delicious product. So I order the butcher box for $50 it takes about two weeks for them to get it processed. Their vegan meat is made from beans yes you read right beans. So since it is veganuary I decided to try these guys out. I just want to say that if it had not been for vegan month I would have missed out on some delicious product. So I came across TVGB via Instagram, most likely bc my cousin is vegan. I decided I'm done with eating birds and decided to give "The Beast" a try.
I used one of the cooking methods on their web page. It was very delicious but did not look like the picture of the cooked beast on their page. I would order it again or try their roast "beef."
I also ordered their bbq jackfruit which I have yet to try. Its still frozen. The only reason this review isn't 5 stars is bc the bbq jackfruit came punctured and a little had leaked out. Hopefully it'll be ok.

You must try the poutine! If you want a good vegan meal, then this place is for you. Do not expect fancy and do not expect exotic dishes. This restaurant has a diner or burger joint ambience. If you want something more then take a star off the rating.

Amazing food!! Relatively inexpensive, very filling, and delicious food. I thought this was a restaurant but it's more like a fast food/food court type place. The food was kind of salty, but otherwise very delicious. I went with two non-vegetarians and even they thought it was delicious and said they would come back. STRONGLY RECOMMEND

We visited the Very Good Butchers this past weekend. The first time we stopped in for lunch. We got a couple of burgers, a chicken platter, a side of mac and cheese and a large poutine. I do, unfortunately have to agree with other yelp reviews that the mac and cheese was a little underwhelming, but everything else made up for that. Our brother in law is not vegan and ordered the chicken platter. He couldn't stop raving about the breading and how uniquely dense the chicken was. I'm so excited to be eating here!! After being a super fan of The Butcher's Son in Berkeley, California, it's really exciting to have the opportunity to try another plant based/vegan butcher shop.
First of all, the location is awesome as it's in Victoria Public Market in the downtown area. It's always nice when a place you like is in close proximity to other cool things. Don't go to TVGB if you're trying to make healthier food choices by eating vegan. Health food it is not. DO go to TVGB if you want to taste vegan comfort food creation performed at the highest level. This is where the vegan movement is probably headed, and TVGB is clearly light years ahead of the pack.

I've been looking for this opportunity for a long time, and the "Taste of Victoria" brought me to the Very Good Butchers for a little sampling tray.
Their pepperoni tasted exactly like the meat version, and I don't think there's a person out there who could disagree with that. My favourite thing, however, was the "KFC" knockoff. It tasted exactly like KFC. What witchcraft is this? So delicious, and I thought about it all week. I'll have to order the whole meal next time I'm in Victoria.

I was in town visiting a friend who decided to take my vegan butt to the Very Good Butcher. We ordered two different dishes and split them - one was a breakfast poutine and the other a 'chicken burger' with a side of mac & cheese.
The burger was quite good - I was pleased with the textures, density, and taste. The mac & cheese just didn't do it for me - it didn't even taste like they were going for a traditional mac&c taste. However the texture was on par and the taste - while not what I expected - was okay.

OMG I wanted to pack this place up in my suitcase and bring it back to Montreal with me! What a selection of vegan food and everything that we tried was delicious. The brunch menu was fascinating to read with all of the faux-meat choices, it's the most included in a brunch as a vegetarian that I've ever felt in my life.
Friendly, fun staff and the location is right in the middle of a very cool public market, yet the place still feels cozy somehow.
Loved it so much that I flew home with veggie pepperoni in my bag. I will be back for sure.
