An initial examination lasts approximately 45-60 minutes and will commence with a detailed history and description of the problem. Dr. Rahman & Dr. Copeland will also perform a detailed orthopedic, neurovascular, soft tissue and chiropractic exam.
Flexion-Distracton (F/D) Technique is a non-invasive and effective means of treating several types of lower back injuries. It comprises of lumbar flexion (bending slightly forward at the waist), and distraction (mechanical traction). This is done with the patient lying on their stomach (prone) and utilizes a specially designed table.

To provide a custom orthotic brace for a patient, a series of examinations are performed to create an optimal support. The whole process takes about 30 minutes. This includes a manual examination of the foot relating to the 3 arches of the feet, wear patterns and noted abnormalities. A comprehensive gaitscan examination is also performed using a computerized force plate to observe a patient's gait from below.
