Growing up in Cuba, dance was infused in my daily life. I began my professional dance career in Havana, Cuba with The American Theatre. I danced and performed all Cuban styles live in theatres and on television. In 2006, I was invited to travel outside of Havana for the first time to teach and perform at the Salsa World Festival in Italy.
From there I got the rare opportunity to travel regularly to teach and perform all over Europe and South America. I made the move to Canada with big dreams to start my own studio and spread my love of Cuban dance and culture. I am proud to say that with hard work and dedication, my dream came true.

Our professional dancers have the privilege of working with Enana Dance Theater, and international company based in Dubai. Domna By Enana Dance Theatre as the festival closing event. The dance drama "Julia Domna" portrays the active role of women through the ages. The show attempts, through a mix of drama, dance and expression to take the audience outside the framework of time and place to feel the depth of Arab history.
The incredible Michita Rivera is BACK for another amazing samba dance workshop in this 6-week intensive workshop, students will learn samba basics and a special choreography that they will present at the end of the session in a final performance (optional)! Turn up the heat and get your body moving with this super fun (all level) Samba workshop!
Cuban Salsa is one of the most popular Salsa styles today. Earthy, and more primal than other Salsa styles, Cuban Salsa focuses on rhythm and musicality. I highly recommend you to join to delve deep in to the Latin dance and Spanish culture. At DDA you get a kick of Spanish culture and Modern and Contentorary Cuban Salsa and other styles. I have been wanting to learn proper Salsa technique with what feels like for years! I was a bit nervous walking into DDA for the first time but was quickly accepted by one of the most welcoming communities I have ever been a part of. Drey Dance Academy has the most professional instruction to learn a wide variety of dances and choreography in a fun and welcoming atmosphere. You have the chance to train and really increase your dance ability no matter your level. I have been taking classes for several years at DDA and no two are ever the same. My favourite are the workshops and private lessons for extra focused learning, however the group classes are also of the highest quality, and casino rueda is especially fun! A creative and one-of-a-kind school--the best!

I have been taking classes with Drey for quite some time and I can honestly say he is one of the best cuban salsa teachers in Toronto. I have seen my salsa improve a lot since joining his dance school. I have even had the opportunity to take a reggaeton class with him and can say he is very knowledgeable about many kinds of dance. I enjoy going to his classes and there is always a good energy that makes it fun to learn. I have nothing but positive things to say about Drey Dance Academy and i would highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their dancing.

His other classes are also a great tool to add Cuban flavor to your dancing. There are also two other instructors that teach Bachata that are great and you should check them out.
The studio atmosphere is great. You'll meet awesome people and you'll always leave having learned something new.

I was fortunate enough to have a friend motivate me to get outside my comfort zone and try a beginner's class. I felt so welcomed and such positive energy and passion at my very first class and decided to try… out the whole month. I'm definitely not a dancer, but Dreyzer has created such an energetic and open atmosphere for people of all levels. His teaching style is fun and the steps are easy to follow (esp for people like myself who hardly dance). Thank you Dreyser (and to all the welcoming and great students I've met!), I will definitely be back.

I highly recommend Drey Dance Academy. Dreyser is an amazing instructor and person. I am continually impressed by what a fun loving yet professional instructor he is. He demonstrates and then breaks down… complex movements and dance patterns. Movements that seemed impossible at the beginning of the class are easy by the end of class. Advice/ corrections are always given in a kind and gentle manner. I think Drey Dance Academy is one of the great secrets in Toronto and I feel so fortunate to be able to take lessons at Drey Dance Academy.
