1924 saw the beginning of chuck wagon racing in Calgary and Dr. Anderson became the official veterinarian for the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede. The Calgary Zoo was established in 1929 and he was named "honorary veterinarian" and looked after all the animals present at the zoo. There was one incidence where he had a white polar bear tied up so that he could remove its four back molars without the use of anaesthetic.
Animal Clinic Downtown is searching for a full-time temporary RVT needed for a 12 to 18 month leave. The team at Animal Clinic is really fantastic. I took my cat Rigby for his first vet examination in December and even with all the restrictions in place due to COVID19, animal clinic made the whole process very straightforward and ensured as little stress as possible. Dr. Joe and all the staff are very friendly, and they were very gentle with my… cat when I took him in. They work to build trust with your animal which is so important, and they work to build trust with you, the owner, through straight forward and honest communication. Would recommend! 😊

The team at Animal Clinic is exceptional. We haven't been taking our dog there for long, but have already developed a great amount of trust in Dr. Joe and the other staff. Their compassion for animals is clear, and I appreciate that they take a step-by-step approach that isn't overwhelming on you, your pet, or your wallet. Highly recommend for the care of your furry best friend!

All my paper work was filed under the wrong dog. They put my rabies vaccination and shots for my dog under another client. When they called to follow up with missing my appointment, which I didn't they just marked me as someone else they didn't even know they put my information under the wrong account. After requesting the proper documentation they sent me a blank form with no information on it. When I called back to again get the proper documentation not under a different woman and dog with the rabies vaccination numbers on it they acted annoyed. When I called again because I had requested

The vets and staff at 9th Avenue Animal Clinic are simply tops. From the moment you walk in, to the moment you leave, you know that your pet is in the best of hands. The staff greet you with friendly smiles and look at you when you walk in. Now, that's a welcome. Dr. Joe is excellent. He's not a boaster or a braggart, but boy does he know his stuff! The technicians are excellent and thorough. I highly recommend 9th Avenue Animal Clinic.

I love the staff at this clinic- really lovely, friendly and respectful. Dr. Baker took great care with our lil' doggie and was able to give us a much better diagnosis than the emergency clinic people did the night before.
The service was prompt, it was simple to book an appointment and the location was very convenient for us. I will be going back for sure!
Only 4 stars because they don't have all the big equipment needed (like ultrasounds) and it was a little pricey (though I don't blame them for that really, that's sort of the way of pet care).

Have brought my cat here twice and the service and care we received exceeded our expectations each time. The staff are caring and personal, there is a homey feel to being there, like a country clinic rather than one located in downtown Calgary. They will do their best to accommodate your desired appt. time and don't charge ridiculous prices or try to push product on to you. Dr. Joe was amazing with my cat Kali; when it was decided she needed surgery he recommended another clinic because he thought she needed overnight care, which they don't do. It was good to know he put her health above

Incredibly friendly vet! My kitty was abused by a man before I became his guardian, and he has always feared men. I was worried when I got an appointment with Dr. Joe after my kitty fell off a dresser and caught his leg in an open drawer. Dr. Joe was kind and patient, giving my kitty time to warm up to him before beginning his exam. He was gentle and took the time to answer all my questions about BOTH my kitties (even though the appointment was only for the one). He then personally priced out the cost of a food recommendation.
My cat wasn't stressed and neither was I. I've never had
