Had my first appointment with Dr Ellie - her and the CDA were both excellent teachers about what needed to be done and checked in frequently about how I was doing. I LOVE THIS OFFICE! It's clean, organized, and they really care about their patients. As a dentist myself it's important for me to send people I know to other doctors who I know will take care of them. My interactions with the staff at Arbutus North were nothing but positive. The staff at reception were inviting and friendly and I felt very comfortable in the hands of Dr. Ellie. She was efficient, professional and was very good at explaining what to expect and what was going on throughout the procedure. The follow up the next day checking that I was okay was a lovely touch.

I am one of the staff that works at Arbutus North Dental. This is by far the most amazing practice I have ever worked at. Super friendly staffs and amazing doctors. I had a great experience! Everything from the lovely office, to the nice and outgoing staff. Dr. Andy Kong did a great job and was informative during the process, helping to answer all my questions. Everyone was very polite and sociable (like me), which made it fun.

Arbutus was one of the only dentist offices still open . Everyone who worked there was beyond helpful , very professional and got me into my appointment quickly and safely.
Before you even got into the appointment safety measures were enforced. All paper work was done outside in your vehicle. Your temperature was taken also at your vehicle. Then you were outfitted with glasses, a mask and hand sanitizer before even entering the gorgeous office.

I recently joined this dental practice as a new patient. Everything was very easy and actually enjoyable! Being able to watch Netflix while having a cleaning done is a huge bonus, and it made the process go by very quickly.
These guys are very thorough which I haven't experienced at this level before at a dentist. They take many many photos and xrays when you first join to make sure they know all of your history and specific needs.
Very glad I was recommended to this business. Will be going again for sure :)

I experienced tooth pain/sensitivity for over a year after a filling with Dr Short. After trying to adjust the bite for me once, she didn't return any further calls about ongoing sensitivity. Finally had to pay out of pocket to have someone re-do the entire filling. After all of this, the office refused to cover any of the cost.
The office manager is nice, and gives decent lip service to trying to fix problems. But in the end, there was a disappointing lack of follow through.

I really really wanted to like this place as I use to live at 3rd & Arbutus, so just a 5 minute walk to 4th, which made coming here very convenient. I had a initial cleaning/x-ray on my 1st visit and immediately they tried to up-sell me on extra services and procedures. Imagine taking going to dentist, but getting the feeling that you are at a auto dealership having your car serviced. Dr. Karla kicked off the conversation with "Let's build you a treatment plan" without the service starting, which means how can we charge you more. They recommend procedures that I did not need

The front desk and business team could definitely use customer service, business understanding, and emotional intelligence. Over the last three months I have had multiple issues with the back service team. No one got back to me for weeks after cancelling an appointment on their mobile app, and after having the same insurance provider for one year they had no idea when my insurance dollars would be used up.

I have no problem with the service they gave me. I just don't like the receptionist who picked up my call today, she was a bit rude. I don't know her name, but I would write it down if I knew it. I understand she probably had a long day or had been picking up thousand calls, but didn't mean she should be rude at the customer, right? Moreover, she wasn't only cut my conversation when I was talking, but also she hung up on me at the end of our conversation right away. It was very abrupt. I have had disappointing experiences with dentists in the last 8 years in Vancouver. Not any more!! I have been for 2 regular cleaning/checkups with Dr. Flo and I am so happy. I no longer feel stressed out that something bad may happen (which it did with another dentist requiring me to straighten my teeth....). The front office staff, the wonderful hygienist Rachel, to the relaxing colour palette and decor. I love this place!!

Mavis the manager called to apologize for the staff behaviour and for them not to honour the quote. She continued to say they have frequent problems and staff meetings about these issue. She bagged me to take down my review and asked me to come back! Mavis did not do her homework or even bother to read the emails before calling me to ask to take this down. That alone just shows you what type of costumer service this place offers.

Doctor Lockhart is hands down the best dentist I have ever had, she is warm, inviting, gentle and so friendly. Through Arbutus North Dental, I have had Invisalign as well as other work (fillings, whitening etc) and I have never had a bad experience.
The office is clean, modern, classy, and they have a great area for kids with toys, TV, Wii , games, books etc so when I brought my 4 year old daughter for our back to back appointments she was able to play in the kids area while I had my work done. The staff has been more than accommodating when it comes to flexibility with appointment times frequently

I have had huge fears in the past and fired my last dentist for many reasons. .A coworker recommended Dr. Lockhart and her team and i have never been happier with a dentist. I also have a hygenist who is so gentle i no longer need freezing for cleanings (yes, I was that bad) and perhaps most importantly if i have ever had an issue of any kind it is dealt with swiftly and professionally and politely. Too rare these days. Every person i have encountered

Me and my family have been with Arbutus North Dental for a couple of years now until we decided it was time to go. At that time, my employer had a good insurance coverage and we did not mind the extra unnecessary work they did - and this includes the freezing of the teeth when it was being filled and the higher than usual cost of cleaning, We did question the necessity of freezing as it was both an extra cost and inconvenient when the procedure is done (you cannot eat or drink properly for a couple of hours) - but they continue to do it anyway. It was my first visit in 6 years(I just recently learned benefits are much easier to use than I thought, and they direct bill!!!), and I knew it was going to be rough. I sat down with the dental hygienist(Alexandra), and in the nicest way possible, she let me know I'll need another hour of cleaning. I knew that was my fault, but they never made me feel idiotic or any hint of condescending tone. They showed me so much care, and we're so professional, answering my questions along the way

I was looking for a good place to get my teeth realigned nothing huge just a small adjustment as I already had braces previously. My friend suggested Arbutus North for invisigline so I thought I would give them shot. My initial reaction was oh everyone here seems so nice and explained everything to me and made you feel comfortable. They even had TV's and such for you to watch as you were getting your dental work done. Since I wasn't pleased with my initial dentist I decided to switch everything to Arbutus North

This place is fantastic. I know that sounds odd to say about a dental office, because, let's face it; Most people don't enjoy going. At least no one I know. I really really can't stand going. I don't like being poked at, and I don't like needles in my mouth, or feeling like I'm going to get lockjaw 'cause it's been hanging open for ages.
