Absolutely worst company for personal taxes, bordering on ethical issues when it comes to billing. Charged us over $1400 for personal taxes, then additionally charged us $500 for a CRA audit review on the tax year they completed, then again charged us over $200 for asking what the $500 charge was for.

I can heartily recommend Hutcheson & Co for those with cross-border (US-Canada) tax issues. Phil and Doug are prompt, professional and knowledgeable. I have complete confidence in their abilities and their filings are seamless and perfectly executed. If you're an American citizen residing in Canada, I strongly suggest having them handle both your American and Canadian filings.

16 years ago, I was newly divorced, and handling my own finances and taxes for the first time in 19 years. For the first year I was at a big-name, well-known tax firm. When I told my friend what they had charged me for that first year, she and her husband hit the roof. They told me about their long-time accountant, Gerry Bunting at Hutcheson & Co, how good and honourable and smart he was. I met with him, agreed with her assessment.
