This inspection is free if your repairs are more than $500 and you get them completed at our shop. If you just get the inspection a regular cost of $65 will apply. We don't want to be that shop that does an alignment, then tells you there are worn out parts only to charge you for a second alignment after the repairs are done. Included in your price is a steering & suspension inspection, that way we can catch any issues before they pose a problem that will wear out your tires prematurely.

Not only were they timely and professional, but wherever possible they aimed to give me the most economical service whilst maintaining a level of quality. Most notably, the staff did a good job of communicating any unclear issues. I definitely will go with them in the future.

Had a great experience when my brakes weren't working, that's why I'm giving 3 stars. Took my car in to get my block heater fixed, they put in a new one but didn't route the cord through my grill but instead just hid it in the engine. Now im standing out here in -32 trying to figure out how to route the cord through my grill, insanely annoying.

These guys are amazing. brought in my jdm subaru for a ton of engine work and despite them not having a lot of info about the weird jdm engine on hand, they were able to find all of the parts, kept me informed on everything, and did a damn good job. plus their loaner cars are hilarious. Been here twice. Neither experience was positive. Got the classic slimy auto shop feeling. Questionable repair recommendations, or things missed. Pricing not justified and conflicting information.
Would not recommend at all.
Edit: I've had time to take the vehicle to a reputable shop I trust in another city. They verified none of the recommendations (hundreds of dollars in repairs) by Good News Auto were required, and they completed the requested work without issue.
My mechanical knowledge is high and I was very sure Good News was ripping me off but now the evidence is clear with verification

Well I am sure they have many happy customers. I requested quotes from 3 reputable shops for some work on my vehicle. When I received the quote from Good News I am afraid it was " Bad News". I recognize that it is a private business, and they have the right to charge what they want. But when you market your business based on claims that you are affordable fair and honest and will save money with them, and you receive a quote that is 60% higher than the other quotes, it seems border line dishonest. I requested a 4th quote from another reputable shop, and they came in right around the other shops

Called about an abnormal noise while driving. Got booked in the next day. Got the diagnosis and it fixed within a day and a half. Very reasonable price and was able to get a loaner vehicle while mine was being repaired. Very happy with service.

When my car had a serious problem, I brought it to this repair shop because it had 4.7-star review at that time. But based on what they did to my car, there must be wrong on the way they diagnosed the problem and planned to repair it, which was not favorable to me. At my first contact, I was told that I first had to spend about $1500 and see if there's more repairs to be done or not. I asked them why its like that, I was told that's their "process" of diagnosing and repairing, as per technician's advice. I had the following parts replaced on my 2013 Ford F150 5.0L: thermostat, front left caliper and radiator hoses.
After I received my truck back I noticed the radiator fan would turn on after 20-30 minutes of driving at 22-24 degrees Celsius ambient temperature. This was not common as it usually only turns on at 34-35+ degrees Celsius ambient temperature after extended driving.
I took the truck back and they said they needed to hold it for 2 days to diagnose the problem. They also told me if the problem was not related to the work they performed, they would charge $65 for troubleshooting. I got

Worst place besides the dealership to go for vehicle service. Dropped my vehicle off the night before for a simple insurance inspection, had my catalytic converter cut out and stolen that night, they failed my vehicle for an oil leak, windshield crack, and no catalytic converter!! I’d still have my catalytic converter if I just went somewhere else… instead. There’s plenty of independent technicians out there that will help you out and not rip you off like this place.

It would help if they didn’t charge twice for a diagnosis on 2 problems that literally takes about 10 minutes each! One was a code, so put your machine on and find the code, said they had to take the battery cable off to have it reset to find the other code again tops even if you have to wait 20 minutes with battery cable this is 1/2 hour??? Other… one was a tick that was worse in the cold, had 2 other mechanic places diagnose that studs on manifold had broke and they told me 10 minutes tops to diagnose??? So they charged me 130.00 each. So my bill was 260+shop supplies 20.80+tax=

These guys are death wobble experts. They probably saved my life. Canadian tire had put passenger tires on a heavy duty truck. Kal tire looked at it before they did and they didn't notice it. I didn't notice it and of course the people that installed the tires didn't notice it. Kal tire told me it was a track bar and steering damper. Good news auto took me into the shop and showed me it was indeed a combination of the tires and gearbox. Thank you very much for the excellent service and advice. Worth every penny

Very disappointed in this garage as they came highly recommended. We thought we knew what the issue was with our car I called a few days ahead for a price on parts. My issue with the car was discussed with them during this call. We dropped the car off and again everything was disgust and what we felt needed to be done to repair the issue. We also… decided to get them to do an inspection, on the vehicle to see if there were any other issues with it as we had bought it the week prior used. It's hard to know who to trust in the tire and auto business. Good News Auto helped me to find the answer. I left a message on their website at 4:00 am by 8:30 am I had a call back. By 10:00 am I had a quote. The day before the appointment they phoned with a reminder and sent a text as well. My wife dropped the car off at 3 pm - they said it would only take 45 minutes. As promised she received her car back in 45 minutes. The price was exactly as quoted. The front end staff were courteous and thorough and we were thoroughly impressed. This is an honest company, which is rare in the auto industry. I have been doing my oil changes here for a couple of years, as well as getting tires changed over and minor repairs. I've had a great experience every single time. They are fast, honest and plain ole good staff to deal with! They are running a business the way everyone should!

I love this place. It took me a long time to find a mechanic shop I could trust. Being a young women who frankly does not know much about cars, I always seem to get screwed over by people trying to sell me stuff I don't need. Good news auto is always honest and will recommend certain repairs but will not pressure me into doing it or make me believe that if I don't fix it now that my car will just die. They will also explain repairs before they do them and ensure you fully understand. They are simply just super nice people! Their price for an oil change is also the best I have found! I

Took our truck in for the some brake/rotor work recently and am very impressed by the folks here. We originally got quoted a number (via email prior to coming in) and when it came time to sign the paper work prior to service the number provided then was much higher. After I brought it to their attention the difference in numbers, the administrative assistant took it to Chris, the owner, and I expected them to say too bad and that I would have to pay the second price. I took my car to Good News auto to have the brakes and suspension looked at. They found some things I expected (the brakes were warped) and some things I didn't (the suspension was just fine and didn't need to be repaired or replaced). The pricing was about on par with what I expected to pay, and Chris took the time to look into pricing for some things I wanted to do, but that weren't necessary.
