Wellness exams, vaccinations, dental cleanings, medical consults and therapy, in house lab (blood, urine, parasite), digital x-ray and dental x-ray, injury rehabilitation and grooming.

As a small animal veterinary hospital we see all types of household family pets. From your companion dogs and cats, to working dogs, reptiles, rodents and birds! Large and small we see them ALL! NEW: Needing to get your pets to the vet, but your lack of time Is making it difficult for you? We have a solution for that! DROP OFFS! We offer DROP OFFs upon scheduled appointments with us. You can drop your pet(s) off with us in the morning on your way to work, then schedule to pick them up on your lunch break, or after work.
Columbia Summit Veterinary Hospital now offers an official adoption program. All the animals offered for adoption are rescues who for one reason or another have been brought to us for euthanasia. Keep in mind some pets offered do have minor health issues, that being said they still live a good quality of life and have many lovable years left to offer to a family.
1. Payment is expected when services are rendered. In order to focus on our patients' needs, customer service and minimizing costs, we do not bill. 2. We accept debit cards, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and cash. All cards must be signed by the owner of the card. 3. When unexpected illness strikes a pet, unexpected expense strikes as well.
In addition to veterinary services we also offer a variety of animal health products, retail products and pet food. We have a complete pet food selection from standard diets for the average healthy pet to unique diets for pets with special nutritional requirements. We also do special orders for products and food, if we don't have it, we can get it!

My family has been taking our pets here for generations. Dr. Hunter has always been kind, patient, honest, and professional. Susan at reception is always so sweet and helpful, and makes the process quick and easy. Just yesterday I got to meet Casey the technician who took the time to make sure me and my senior kitty felt comfortable, and that I totally understood my cats health issues, and her surgical procedure and estimate. She was able to draw blood from my cat, who technicians were not able to draw blood from in the past. She even went for a belly rub without hesitation, and my kitty was loving

Shame on you Columbia vet clinic. A gorgeous 8 year old dog with cancerous tumours came to you, and you decided to fix her torn ACL before dealing with her numerous mammary tumours. That dog died today because you told her owners the torn ACL was more important than checking out and dealing with her lumps. The mammary cancer spread to her lungs and she suffered. You would have scammed a beautiful family out of $5000 for nothing- as she would have died during the surgery. I would never trust you with my pets!! SHAME ON YOU!

Dr Hunter and his staff are nothing beyond exceptional. Dr Hunter is very professional and empathetic. I know that my animals are in the best hands when I take them there. My dogs and cat are my children and I would do anything for them, having said that I highly recommend anyone to take their animals to his clinic. 5 stars.

The front desk girl was okay, but the doctor is extremely insensitive and incredibly rude. He could not care less for our dogs bleeding, and the next morning he actually yelled at us on the phone when we called for help as she was breathing her last breaths within 24 hours of his "advice." Same illness happened a few days later to our second baby and we went to our normal vet in Valleyview. By avoiding this rude "vet" on Columbia, our second pup had a chance at life. If only we had known before we trusted his advice, we may not have lost a poor beloved life.

Favourite vet I have ever been to. I went there once just to grab a product off the shelf and Dr Hunter came out and asked what I was looking for and recommended a product that was much better for what I needed and around the same price. It really impressed me that he personally helped customers when he could, so next time I needed a vet I took my dog there.
My dog gets nervous at the vet, but relaxes a bit as soon as she sees him. He dealt with the problem right away and had the chance to encourage me to get other expensive work done... but instead he explained why those next steps probably weren

I brought my kitten here today and I was so impressed. The doctor, the receptions and everyone else was so nice and good to my kitten. The poor guy ended up having earmites and they were so gentle with him as they cleaned out his ears and treated him. The doctor also took time to explain how to administer the at home treatment. I am so happy I picked this Vet to go to.

I was sent to this veterinary clinic for an emergency by my normal vet's office as they couldn't squeeze her in. Dropped my dog off and they took X-rays and I went and met them there to discuss options. The vet(not Dr. Hunter) had no useful information to tell me. All he knew is that she broke her femur and he admitted he had no idea about… procedure and next steps. He called my normal vet's office and he called me back 15 minutes befor closing saying he's confident I could take her home overnight. My 85-95 lb GSD with a broken femur.. He said it was standard protocol.. The office seemed

Everybody at the clinic is amazing! They are so helpful :) Our dog had to go in for an emergency visit last month and they were so great. They even called us at home two days in a row to make sure she was doing ok and said if anything came up to give them a call and come in right away. Thank you so much!

Phoned ahead to ensure that our pup could receive a parvo only shot. We arranged for child care and crated our 12 week puppy for a round trip into Kamloops from Barriere. When my wife arrived she was told that they would not give it to her. He gave her the info and said it was her choice how to proceed until she decided to go against his advice. I… understand that he feels obligated to do what he feels is right, but we were going on the advice of a registered breeder that we have known and trusted for years over a vet we found on the Internet yesterday.
