In light of social distancing recommendations from the Canadian government and all professional associations I am a member of, I will not be offering face-to-face sessions until further notice. I have been successfully offering effective, therapeutic, cybercounselling for the past 10 years, and continue to do so in these trying times.

The preferred secure videoconferencing platform I use is Vsee; Skype is an alternative, as are telephone sessions. I understand this is a difficult time for everyone, and I am doing everything in my power to continue to provide the same high-quality care that I always do. Velma Noble brings a warm, compassionate, and hopeful therapeutic stance to her private counselling practice established in 2004. She employs a holistic approach (mind, body, and soul) that is equally balanced with a practical, strength-based approach. By forming safe therapeutic relationships with her clients, Velma helps facilitate a healing process that brings relief or resolution to distressing emotions or life situations.
Grief is often misunderstood. It is a powerful and natural emotion. In the midst of loss, each person's experience is profoundly unique and all too often painfully isolating. Grief springs not only from death but also from life-altering events, for example a brush with cancer.

Identifying and coping with the heightened sense of loss that accompanies most major life transitions, including such things as job loss, has become a new focal point for increasing our collective and individual understanding of grief. When loss occurs, we are hit with a confusing myriad of emotions.
If you scored above a 15 or 16 on the Beck Inventory, you may need help from a therapist specializing in treatment of depression. Depression hurts, isolates, and debilitates. It can feel like a dark cloud that will not lift, and it includes feelings of severe despondency and dejection. It can make living a normal life seem impossible.
Loving relationships are one of the greatest sources of happiness and meaning for human beings, yet also the cause of lasting sadness and regret. When love relationships enter a state of decline, feelings of anger, hurt, and resentment move in. Wounds fester. Couples turn away from each other, and a sense of "we" begins to turn into "me".
The frequency of major life transitions occur can leave us feeling like there's no way to ever catch up. Each major transition requires that we undergo a profound metamorphosis on multiple levels (physically psychologically, emotionally, socially, financially, spiritually, sexually) as we exchange, adjust, and adapt our identities, roles, freedoms, and responsibilities.
