Services
Since its founding in 1970, CSME has strived to form a single organization - with a clear national identity - for Canadian mechanical engineers. CSME's mission is outlined in the following points. To promote the creation, exchange, diffusion of an access to technical and other information relevant to mechanical engineering for both technical and public interest;.
Below is an overview of the annual fees for different CSME membership categories. Note that membership is not limited to mechanical engineers. Technologists and other professionals/scientists working in the broad field of mechanical engineering or in collaboration with mechanical engineers are welcome to apply.
Annually, the CSME sends Sustaining Member Departments a CSME Gold Medal to be awarded to a student of their choice. The award criteria and timing are set by the Sustaining Member Department. The medal comes with a certificate and is mailed to the department chair, usually in early April. Sustaining Member Departments are eligible to have student teams participate in the annual CSME Student Design Competition.
Students of mechanical engineering-related programs (undergraduate or graduate level) may join the CSME for FREE. Once you have joined, you need not renew your membership every year, however you should login to your account periodically to update your profile whenever you need to revise key information (e-mail address, expected date of graduation, etc.).
