Erla Christens is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. Erla received her Bachelor of Arts degree at Concordia University in Montreal and her Masters in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University.

Erla draws on strategies from Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), based on the theories of Aaron Beck and Albert Ellis, to emphasize the interconnectedness of thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, and to guide and assist clients to achieve their goals for counselling in order to alleviate current distress and prevent future concerns.
Our current fees are in accord with current fee guidelines suggested by the Psychologists Association of Alberta. We find that many of our clients are eligible for third-party reimbursement through private health insurance plans, such as Alberta Blue Cross. We collect payment in full at each visit and provide you with a receipt that you can submit for reimbursement.
We offer hope and tools to help our clients manage conflict more effectively, communicate authentically, heal from infidelity, rebuild trust after betrayal, deepen both emotional intimacy and physical intimacy. Our goal is to help you build the relationship you desire.

We employ the latest methods and advances in couples treatment including emotionally-focused therapy, Gottman Method therapy, developmental couples therapy and neuropsychobiological approaches. Our philosophy is that a connected, trusting, committed couples relationship is the basis for a strong family and provides a secure base for a happy life.
When two people join their lives together, they create a unique set of strengths and potential challenges that will have an impact on their relationship and that will potentially follow them throughout their lives. The purpose of premarital counselling is to help couples gain greater awareness of these issues so that they can prepare for and plan helpful ways of dealing with them and to build a foundation for a strong marriage together.
Why a marriage checkup? You see your dentist every year to make sure your teeth stay healthy. You might see your doctor regularly to monitor your physical health. How about keeping our marriage healthy? Is there a way to take the pulse of your marriage and identify trouble spots early on, before things get worse?

I only had 2 sessions on-line with them , on both sessions the counsellor was late. On the secondo one, I was ready and on time waiting for the counsellor and she never showed up. I sent an email asking about it and then I got an excuse that honestly I found hard to believe. Never received an email telling me in advance that the session wouldn't take place. I still booked a third session, again, the counsellor didn't show up. I decided that was it. But after, I realized they had charged me for 2 extra sessions that were dated weeks after I stopped using Cobb and Associates services. I

I love Dr. Cobb! I worked with him individually and with my husband. He is very mild natured and easy to be around. What I appreciated most is his use of tools! It wasn't just talk therapy. He gave me methods I could incorporate at home and even share with others. The sheer amount of learning I experienced with him was incredible and life changing! Thank you Dr. Cobb for what you do!
