Lingan Golf Club was first established in 1895 at Victoria Park in Sydney. The golf club moved to a new site at Lingan Bay in 1909 and eventually found its current home in MacLean's Crossing in 1913. The original 9 hole layout was designed and constructed by Dominion, Nova Scotia native and Maritime Amateur Golf Champion Malcolm Martin.
