Norvon Enterprises Limited of Port Hastings was formed in 1968 by Robert A. Fox and Richard MacIver who came up with the company name from their wives' names (Noreen and Yvonne). Richard soon decided to concentrate his efforts on other business opportunities. The Gulf Oil Refinery, Heavy Water Plant, Nova Scotia Pulp (now Port Hawkesbury Paper) and
